Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton and Ghislaine Maxwell remain inconveniently innocent
The story of Prince Andrew and the underage ‘sex slave’ Victoria Roberts has down the British media’s newscycle. But elsewhere it nags on. Roberts claims to have shagged Prince Andrew three times while working as Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘masseuse’. Andrew denies it. All we know for certain is that they’ve met.
Over in the US, the Daily Caller has more on the billionaire and convicted sexual deviant Jeffrey Epstein:
While Bill and Hillary Clinton may have cut off Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire convicted pedophile friend of Bill’s, Epstein’s chief procurer of teens for sex with Epstein and his A-list sex crime cronies, a woman named Ghislaine Maxwell, remains an intimate of the Clintons and is running a program funded by the Clinton Slush Fund a.k.a. The Clinton Foundation.
Ghislaine Maxwell, daughter of disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell who died in mysterious cicumstances, is alleged to have introduced Andrew to Epstein. But as for being a madame, she denies all allegations.
Her lawyer has said:
“The allegations made… against Ghislaine Maxwell are untrue. The original allegations are not new and have been fully responded to and shown to be untrue. Each time the story is retold it changes, with new salacious details about public figures. (The woman’s) claims are obvious lies and should be treated as such and not publicised as news, as they are defamatory. Ghislaine Maxwell’s original response to the lies and defamatory claims remains the same. Miss Maxwell strongly denies allegations of an unsavoury nature, which have appeared in the British press and elsewhere and reserves her right to seek redress at the repetition of such claims.”
Quite so.
The Caller continues:
According to a lawsuit filed against Epstein, who has settled as many as 33 lawsuits by his underage victims, Maxwell not only recruited teens for sex with Epstein and his friends but also took the lewd photographs of the girls which adorned a table in the Epstein manse when Clinton visited. Maxwell would often disrobe and join the underage action, according to the same lawsuit.
She is not on trial. Prince Andrew is not on trial. Bill Clinton is not on trial. However much we’d like them to be and entertaining we’d find it, the fact is that they are not.
Yet, the Daily Mail has asked:
Why ARE the rich and powerful so in thrall to Ghislaine Maxwell?
Are they? Looking for scandal can be a fruitless enterprise. Having placed Maxwell at the apogee of the rich and powerful, the Mail went on:
Intriguingly, the Prince — forced, amid public outrage, to discontinue his friendship with Epstein in 2011 — remains on friendly terms with Ghislaine.
Well, Epstein was convicted of sex with a minor in 2008. Ghislaine Maxwell has not been arrested, let alone charged with any crime. She is what we like to call innocent.
…in 2013, Andrew attended her birthday party at the Dorchester Hotel in London. The starry guest-list included Britain’s richest MP, Labour’s Shaun Woodward, and his Sainsbury’s heiress wife Camilla, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and former It-girl Tamara Beckwith. Last year, Ghislaine maintained a near-constant presence among New York’s smart society, and was photographed socialising with actress Julianna Margulies, movie star Josh Lucas and Jimmy Choo entrepreneur Tamara Mellon. All of which invites two questions.
Who? And who? Not quite:
First: how, exactly, does this middle-aged woman retain such stratospheric social cachet, untainted by not only her crooked family’s fall from grace but also one of the most tawdry sex scandals of modern times?
Aside from the ageism and sexism in that question, are we to believe that Tamara Beckwith, the braying IT girl most recenly seen as a jobbing antiques expert on TV’s Four Rooms, is of society’s uppermost tier?
And Ghislaine Maxwell never did rob a pension fund nor get convicted of sex with underage girls. We’re not here to defend the indefensible. We just want to stick to the facts.
The NY Daily News notes:
Maxwell, who was among the notables at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in 2010…
The Caller is trying to tie Clinton to sex crimes, which remain alleged.
Since Ghislaine Maxwell was present on the numerous occasions when Clinton both visited Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion and flew on Epstein’s jet with the former president to Epstein’s hedonistic private underage sex retreat in the Virgin Islands, the Clintons may be concerned about what Maxwell saw or might say should she be disaffected, perhaps during the thick of a presidential campaign.
Is that the Caller’s plan: to get Maxwell to sue and, as it hopes, be forced to state / confirm that Clinton is a criminal pervert?
Despite the fact that Palm Beach Police identified Maxwell as the chief procurer for Epstein’s underage orgies, crimes for which she was inexplicably immunized from federal prosecution in a secret non-prosecution agreement, Maxwell was nonetheless an honored guest at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding and now works for TerraMar, a nonprofit funded by The Clinton Foundation according to the Foundation website.
Was she so indentified? We’ve heard allegations and seen her name in court papers accusing her of procuring girls for her former boyfriend. But we’ve seen no police word as to her guilt or innocence.
A spokesman for Ghislaine Maxwell said…that she has never been contacted by any police force or other law enforcement agency in connection with any allegations made against Jeffery Epstein.
The Guardian looks for the Epstein files:
Assistant US attorney Ann Marie Villafaña relayed a summary of the investigation to Epstein’s counsel in a letter in 2007.
“Mr Epstein, through his assistants, would recruit underage females to travel to his home in Palm Beach to engage in lewd conduct in exchange for money,” it said. She added that some of the girls were expected to strip naked and give massages to Epstein while he masturbated, while others had full intercourse with the financier.
“Some of those victims went to Mr Epstein’s home only once,” Villafaña’s letter added. “Some went there as many as 100 times or more.”
…the accounts from around 40 Florida girls who said they were molested by Epstein were numerous and overlapping.
Despite this, the US government eventually agreed to allow Epstein to plead guilty to just one count of soliciting prostitution from an underage girl under Florida state law. In the end, he served just 13 months of an 18-month jail sentence.
The circumstances that led up to that secret plea agreement have proved an enduring controversy. Epstein agreed not to contest civil claims brought by the 40 women identified by the FBI, but escaped a prosecution that could have seen him jailed for the rest of his life.
The deal?
…Epstein’s adversaries have long suspected that the hedge fund manager somehow used his influence to lobby for a “sweetheart” deal with prosecutors that protected him and his associates from serving significant jail time.
No evidence has been publicly unearthed to substantiate that theory…
And that’s the problem: “no evidence unearthed.” In simpler terms that means no evidence. But the reporting is frenzied and loaded. The conspiracy theory is presented as fact.
Even after Epstein’s prosecution (what there was of it) in Florida criminal court, Ms. Maxwell, Epstein’s wealthy socialite pimp, was donating to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign with a maximum personal contribution. Maxwell’s contribution may be illegal given that she is not a U.S. citizen and foreign nationals are prohibited under criminal penalty from contributing to any U.S. political campaign.
The Caller is gunning for Maxwell, who strenuously denies her innocence – something the paper makes no menion of. It just adds:
Should the secret non-prosecution of Epstein be overturned in the Federal Courts as now seems likely, the good ship Clinton could be in for more stormy seas as Bubba himself maybe compelled to testify as to his relationship with the sex criminal.
Best of luck damning Clinton with tales of illicit sex. He’s the man who didn’t understand what “sexual relations” meant.
Such are the facts…
