Injury Balls: Chelsea miracle as Diego Costa defies the tabloids
Football Balls looks at reporting on the Chelsea forward line going into the weekend’s match with Arsenal.
The Daily Express leads with news that Didier Drogba is not fit to face Arsenal. That injury is compounded by Diego Costa being “10 days away from recovering” from his hamstring injury. Arsenal play Chelsea in four days. So. Costa has no chance of playing in the match.
Yesterday the Mirror agreed, saying Chelsea were facing a “striker crisis”.
But one day on, the Mirror says Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is confident all his strikers will be fit for the Arsenal match. The Mirror agrees. It says Costa should train fully before the match, and Loic Remy and Didier Drogba “should also be fit”.
