Reyaad Khan was killed twice by drone strikes – Shilan Ozcelik would get closer
Two UK citizens fighting alongside Isis were killed by a targeted unmanned RAF Reaper drone. Reyaad Khan, 21, from Cardiff, and Ruhul Amin, 26, were killed in Syria.
David Cameron says killing the pair was “an act of self-defence”:
“….after meticulous planning Reyaad Khan was killed in a precision airstrike carried out on 21 August by an RAF remotely piloted aircraft while he was travelling in a vehicle in the area of Raqqah in Syria. In addition to Reyaad Khan who was the target of the strike, two [IS] associates were also killed, one of whom – Ruhul Amin, has been identified as a UK national. They were [IS] fighters and I can confirm there were no civilian casualties.”
The National Security Council said Khan and Hussain were planning to attack commemorative events in the UK.
Cameron said Hussain and Khan were “seeking to orchestrate specific and barbaric attacks against the west… We should be under no illusion. Their intention was the murder of British citizens.”
You can now try to wrap your head around the plight of Shilan Ozcelik, the 18-year-old arrested for – get this – trying to join the Kurds in their fight against IS.
In other news, Reyaad Khan seems to have been killed twice (via The Media Blog):
If they cannot be killed by conventional weapons from afar, maybe Shilan Ozcelik can off them in close combat?
