Vote Libido Dems With Lembit
“AFTER seeing the way Lembit has behaved, I strongly believe that the Lib Dems should be called the Libido Dems,” says Sian Lloyd. “It says more about the things they stand for. ”
Former TV weathergirl Ms Lloyd used to date the LibDem MP Lembit Opik.
There was no little excitement as Hello! magazine introduced us to the couple back in 2004.
Back then life was one long glossy photospread for the MP for Montgomeryshire, Wales, and his showbiz lover.
And then Opik met 24-year-old Romanian-born Cheeky Girl Gabriel Irmimia.
The woman notable for her use of satin hotpants in a professional capacity and who, along with identical twin sister Monica, invited music lovers to “Come and smile don’t be shy/ Touch my bum this is life”, would capture Opik’s heart.
But Sian has moved on. She is not bitter.
So what the man she was to marry is now with a much younger lover.
What matter that the dream house she was building with Opik will never materialise.
Speaking to presenter John Daly on OPTV’s Snap programme, Sian says: “It’s sad to know that we’re never going to live there, but in retrospect, perhaps it was a lucky escape.”
The show’s contestants guess the value of their first home and then discover what overseas properties can be bought for the same price today.
The first home Sian owned was in Cardiff, a small terraced house which she refurbished, extended and kept for many years.
By our calculations, for about the same money you can buy a house in Bucarest’s Welsh quarter.
Someone should tell Lempit…
