Al Sugar’s 54-A-Side Manchester City
“SHEIKH YOU BOOTY,” screams the Sun’s front-page headline, as “Arab sheikhs” (are their any other?) buy Manchester City and set about buying every single footballer on the planet.
The Sun says Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, aka Al Sugar, intends to “grab” Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United and demand that he pays the ransom for his victim of a red hot £134million.
Such is the way of football business…
Also on Al Sugar’s shopping list are Cesc Fabregas (£60m), Fernando Torres (£70m), Kaka (£80m) and Dimitar Berbatov for £60m.
Indeed, that would be the same Berbatov who has just turned down move to City in preference of a move to Manchester United.
Inside the Sun and computer wizards have stuck the players faces onto the bodies of the current Man City squad, and found room for Barcelona’s Argentine winger Lionel Messi (£80m).
The Sun lines up 54 players in all, forgetting to note that Al Sugar has yet to change the rules, and though opponents might feel as if they’re taking on more than the traditional XI, fielding 54 players in a match is, for now, forbidden…
