RIP Ralph Millward: Killed In Bournemouth
IN Westbourne, a Victorian village to the west of Bournemout, six teenagers are arrested over the death of Ralph Millward, the Big Issue seller who stood outside the Marks & Spencers.
Your writer knew Ralph Millward. Not personally. Not well. Ralph was a figure on the pavement, a familar and friendly face and form.
I know the head of the police who covers the case. He knew Ralph Millward. His wife , a policewoman, also knew him. The dead man was likeable and benign.
As the Mail reports:
One 14-year-old boy, three 16-year-old boys, one 17-year-old girl, and one 18-year-old woman, all from the Bournemouth area have been arrested and are helping police with their enquiries, according to a Dorset police spokesman.
A man is dead. How he died and why we may never discover. But he will be missed.
RIP Ralph Millward.
