Nigel Evans Proves MPs Live On Another Planet
AN Anorak reader pings us with news of Nigel Evans, Tory MP for the Ribble Valley and climate change campaigner. The Lancashire Telegraph reports:
” Nigel Evans has visited countries including Hong Kong, Malaysia and Kenya in recent years – all funded by taxpayers or third parties. According to an investigation by Channel Four’s Dispatches team, the Conservative MP for Ribble Valley has made more than 50 trips abroad in the past 10 years. “
And he’s the one from the Alan Duncan episode:
“Mr Evans was recorded in the House of Commons’ Strangers Bar joking he had to make his sandwiches himself to earn more cash.”
Mr Evans voted in favour of laws to “stop climate change”, aka the Canute Laws.
What else do we know of Mr Evans?
Nigel Evans, Member of Parliament for the Ribble Valley, today Chaired a session of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s Conference on Climate Change. The Conference has been running all week and today’s session was entitled – Parliamentary Partnerships for Action on Climate Change: Experiences.
Exepriences such as:
Last Saturday I stood on the fifth floor of a building three miles from lauch pad 39a at the Kennedy Space Centre, Florida. It was almost midnight. I could clearly witness the illuminated space shuttle Discovery through a clear, warm evening… It was powerful and awesome… and not without considerable dangers.
Too right. Think of the ozone.
On my return to the UK, my excitement was hardly contained as I shared my experiences and thoughts with anyone too slow to escape my mouth. It was as if I had just returned from Mars myself.
MPs – they live on another planet…
