How Richard Heene Planned To Dissect Falcon Heene’s Remains In Roswell Scam
HAVING proved that the media will watch balloon so long as there is the scent of death attached to it, Richard Heene , father to Loft Boy Falcon Heene, responds to news that his adventures with flight might have been a scam to con a voracious media into featuring him on the telly.
Forget Jail, Richard Heene Should Get An Emmy
Now the media debates Richard Heene’s character, and lots of hacks paid to fill space have something to voice an opinion on. Richard Heene has arrived. The media should thank him not monster him.
But it might not go well. Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden‘s says police may well pressing charges against Richard Heene. Now someone claiming to be Richard Heene responds on TMZ:
9. This is Richard. I may not have cable but I do have the internet and I must say I am alarmed at some of the things coming out. Any other inquiries are to be made to my spokesman who I will introduce tomorrow.
I came across this site and this is unreal.– First of all, this was not a hoax. Falcon WAS missing when the balloon lifted off. Why would we make a hoax with out kid?
– When Falcon was talking about the show, this is what happened: Earlier in the day when we were working on this craft, I told Falcon that someday we would be famous and have our own show and when that happened, he would have to hide in the attic to escape his fans. Are we clear?
– This guy claiming to have worked for me was a fraud. Yes, he will show you my handwriting where I allegedly talk about a plan but it was all a joke at the time.
– Any other questions regarding this incident will be forwarded to my spokesman who I will introduce tomorrow. I will answer more questions tonight.
and please don’t come within 200 meters of my house. Read the note.Yours truly,
Richard Heene
As Anorak has said, Falcon Heene has two older brothers and given the chance to show up his mum and dad on the telly, he said he did it for “the show”. He also vomited on the Today Show. Falcon Heene is a hero to small boys and TV critics the world over.
But the evidence of Heene’s alleged conniving is massing. On Gawker, 25-year-old researcher Robert Thomas says he and Richard Heene “drew up a master plan to generate a massive media controversy using a weather balloon. To get famous, of course.”
Thomas spent several months earlier this year working on developing a reality science TV show to pitch to networks — the “show,” Thomas says, that Falcon was referring to when he told CNN “We did it for the show.”
Says Thomas:
Doing research for the project on Google and YouTube, I stumbled upon Richard Heene and his video series Psyience Detectives. I was surprised to find this potential collaborator in the small city of Fort Collins.
After dinners and cupe of coffee and working together, Thomas began to notice things – strange things:
There was something else at work, though. Oddly enough, Richard’s sampling of stardom from being on Wife Swap — twice — gave him a sense of seniority in our scientific conversations.
That and the fact he was older and had hired you to help on his project…
And he wanted nothing more than to get another reality TV series. Richard had an ongoing dialog with someone at ABC who helped produce Wife Swap. Richard was pitching something along the lines of “MythBusters-meets-mad scientist.”
And you’d be paid?
I was to be paid $15 per hour, per a verbal agreement. More crucially, if and when and the reality series and was picked up by ABC, I would be one of his lead research assistants on the show.
And what was your motive?
I was very receptive to the idea of filtering esoteric science for the general population.
Not like Richard Heene:
Richard, on the other hand, was often driven by ego and fame. He was all about controversy, hoping to whip up something significant enough to eliminate our reality TV competitors.
Not like Thomas who whips up controversy by selling his story of, er, controversy and fame?
He wanted episodes that would shock people and maximize his exposure.
Says the man who was touting his story to publishers. But Thomas does have some genuine juice and he tells us:
And then we delved into the area of UFOs. I was reading a book on witness reports of Roswell at the time, just out of curiosity — I’ve never concluded whether it really took place or was an elaborate hoax. And Richard said, “how much do you want to bet we could facilitate some sort of a media stunt that would be equally profound as Roswell, and we could do so with nothing more than a weather balloon and some controversy?”
Were they going to dress Falcon Heene up in green paint and a huge third eye and have pictures taken of his dissection? Thankfully, Flacon was in the attic and the mad scientists never got to him first.
None of this proves Richard Heene is a liar. He did no endanger his child. Richard Heene is right now the world’s most famous mad scientist. And very soon Thomas is speculating like the rest of the media:
I’ve spent a lot of time in his garage, which has a drill press and various welding tools. It’s unorganized and chaotic. There’s really not so much an attic as some support beams connected with plywood. Being an adult of average height, I couldn’t get up into the attic if I’d wanted to, so I don’t know how a six-year-old child could have gotten up there.
Any ideas?
There’s not an easy way to access that overhang. Maybe if I’d lifted that child up into the attic, he might have been able to rest up there, but not comfortably.
And, then, want to know what Thomas’s motives might be, other than fame and money and a selfless dedication to science?
The work I put in for the ABC proposal was never compensated. Richard implied he didn’t have the money to pay me. But he would always reassure me, “It’s all going to pay off in the end.”
And it has. Richard Heene is a celebrity now. What odds he gets his own show?
