by | 26th, April 2010

HEARD the one about the gay dog in the Australian Thai eatery knon as Thai Spice? Blind Ian Jolly, 57, come sin. He sits down. His dog Nudge sits down. He is asked to take his “gay dog” outside.

The matter reaches court.

The eatery is ordered by the Equal Opportunity Tribunal to pay Mr Jolly $1500, undertake a court of retraining and apologise.

Restaurant owners Hong Hoa Thi To and Anh Hoang Le tell the court that a waiter heard Mr Jolly’s partner Chris Lawrence “to be saying she wanted to bring a gay dog into the restaurant”.

No gay dogs. It’s not Korea, you know. The owners continue – and it get better:

“The staff genuinely believed that Nudge was an ordinary pet dog which had been desexed to become a gay dog.”

Gays are desexed?
