Ryan Giggs, Jennifer Thompson, Wayne Rooney And Natasha Giggs In Pants On Fire Story
WITH Ryan Giggs remaining dignified in the face of extreme provocation and refusing to shag ‘n’ tell, thoughts turn to other footballers and their would-be WAGs, namely Wayne Rooney and Jennifer Thompson.
Before that, we notes that the Daily Star leads with the headline “GIGGS TELLS HIS BRO: DITCH YOUR SLAPPER”.
Isn’t misogyny grand, readers. Ryan Giggs is alleged to have told Rhodri Giggs, the brother he cuckolded, to ditch his wife, Natasha Giggs, because she is a “slapper”.
The language is not far removed from that of the Bolton News which bills Jennifer Thompson, thus:
Rooney girl’ saved from blaze as she slept
OK. Thompson is not so very famous that she would attract readers. She plays second fiddle to Rooney. But when her name doesn’t even feature in the first line of a story about her life being in peril, you wonder what her role is. Is she a mere story fluffer? The news is:
A BOLTON woman who made the news headlines following an alleged affair with footballer Wayne Rooney, had to be rescued from her home when a blaze broke out.
At line three, Thompson’s name is made known:
Firefighters forced their way into the house of Jennifer Thompson after a candle set fire to window blinds as she slept.
What says Thompson? Well, nothing. She has a spokesperson:
Last night a friend of Miss Thompson paid tribute to the firefighters, who were called out after a fire alarm at the home went off.
Sorry, she does not have a PR agent. She has a “friend”…
She said: “Jennifer would like to thank the local fire service for their swift response. They made the situation a lot better by their presence. She hopes this example points out the importance of smoke alarms in all homes.”
And:
The fire happened just two days after paramedics were called to the address following reports Miss Thompson had taken an overdose. That came a week after Miss Thompson was arrested at her home after being caught with drugs and drugs paraphernalia. She was given a caution for possession of cannabis.
Isn’t this the same Juici Jeni who told the News of The World way back in May:
“I know this business well and enjoy the social aspect of it so it was inevitable I would start my own agency.” She claimed she wasn’t just trying to cash in on oversexed soccer stars. “I am certain we will get some famous clients including footballers – but they really only make up about five per cent of the business and they can be very stingy,” said Jenny. “Businessmen are far more profitable customers.”
Is all publicity bad publicity?
Meanwhile, there is no word from Wayne Rooney, who, like Giggs, is above talking about women who shag ‘n’ tell…
