Kendal Thief Wears Stolen Jacket To Court In Kendal

DID Stephen Kirkbride steal a £125 jacket from Kendal’s Sports Direct shop? Shop staff say he did. They say Kirbride is wearing the item, a Craghopper waterproof , at South Lakeland Magistrates’ Court, Kendal.
Kirkbride’s defence solicitor Judith Birkett snots. She says he charge “wouldn’t be so stupid” to wear stolen merchandise to court. That’s the jacket with the tear marks where the security tags have bee ripped off.
Says Kirkbride:
“It was damaged but I thought it was a bargain.”
The court is then show CCTV footage of Kirkbride nicking the jacket.
Magistrate Jenny Farmer finds him guilty of shoplifting.
