Elmo can’t stop talking about sex, but denies any wrongdoing with 16 year old
HAVE you seen Being Elmo? Rubbish isn’t it? It’s cinematic fluff that faces you with a story of a man who, without much fuss, because really famous for having his hand in the arse of a red, furry irritant. Elmo, somehow, because the single most famous thing on Sesame Street.
Now Elmo is having a crisis.
See, Kevin Clash – Elmo’s voice and operator – has had to leave the show while he fights some allegations that he’s been having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy. Clash adamantly denies this, for the record. Of course, in Britain, you may be screwing your face up because you can’t remember how old you have to be in Britain to hump someone, but in America, rest assured, it isn’t 16.
So what happened? Well, Sesame Workshop lawyers have met up with a 23-year-old man who claims that he and Clash began a sexual relationship 7 years ago (when he was 16 and Clash was 45). Clash acknowledges that there has been a relationship, but he’s insisting that this all took place after the accuser was, legally speaking, an adult.
Sesame Workshop bosses say: “In June of this year, Sesame Workshop received a communication from a young man who alleged that he had a relationship with Kevin Clash beginning when he was 16-years-old. This was a personal relationship, unrelated to the workplace. We took the allegation very seriously and took immediate action.”
The accuser signed up with lawyers, Andreozzi and Associates and they fired off a missive to Sesame Street accusing them of trying to “discredit the victim in order to protect its employee and the image of one of its most valuable characters,” adding, “This approach places a greater value on a puppet than the well being of a young man.”
And now, TMZ have obtained an email which is ALLEGEDLY from Clash to the accuser, which sees Elmo apologising for constantly talking about sex.
In the email, Clash writes, “I’m sorry that I keep talking about sex with you, its driving me insane,” adding: “I want you to know that I love you and I will never hurt you. I’m here to protect you and make sure your dreams come true.”
And Clash says of all this: “I had a relationship with [the accuser]. It was between two consenting adults and I am deeply saddened that he is trying to make it into something it was not,” adding that the accusations are ‘false and defamatory’.
