Pathetic Australian journalist implicates ‘laughing’ Prince Charles in radio prank
JACINTHA Saldanha has died. Pranked on air by two Australian DJs, the nurse who worked at the hospital where Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, was being treated, seems to have committed suicide. You might have thought their hoax call funny. Wendy Harmer “Co-Founder of the Aussie women’s online mag, The Hoopla. Journo. author, stand-up, bigmouth, mum” thought it was great.
She tweeted:
“Those two kiddos are legends!”
But then Mrs Salandha dies. We don’t know why the nurse killed herself, as appears to have been the case. But Harmer reviews her funny bone:
I admit, I hadn’t heard this particular call in its entirety. I should have before I commented. Lesson learned. Now that I have, I hear that the call breaks the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) Commercial Radio code of practice …
It’s clear that the two DJs involved have broken the rules.
People are outraged and appalled. They are looking for someone to blame, but they should also remember that Prince Charles himself laughed off the incident. “How do you know I’m not a radio station?” the heir to the throne quipped as he spoke to reporters.
