Daily Express Weather: Everyone Dead By Teatime

by | 8th, February 2014

WE need to talk about the weather. We need to talk about it because a large part of the UK is about to be sucked into a black hole. The Daily Express’s wet finger man Nathan Rao – yep, him – has the chilling evidence:

Rao has facts:

The entire west coast is braced for colossal 75 foot-plus waves to crash inland this weekend triggering unchecked flooding and widespread destruction.

That sounds big. And it is:

That is big. The country in being hit from the east and the west by 75-foot high waves.

Can it get worse? Well, you asked:

A deep low Atlantic pressure system miles of the UK coast will whip up 150mph winds and violent sea surges as it barrels into the country. At its centre the intense storm will see pressure drop to just 944mb – seven millibars LOWER than the Great Storm of 1987.

Regular readers will recalls that on November 17, Nathan Rao had worse news:

100 DAYS 100 DAYS OF HEAVY SNOW: Britain now facing worst winter in SIXTY YEARS warn forecasters

Maybe the waves will wash away the snow? Maybe snowboaders can become surfers? Says Rao:

A deep low Atlantic pressure system miles of the UK coast will whip up 150mph winds and violent sea surges as it barrels into the country.

As you rediscover god, grab our two favourite kids and row to the Scottish Highlands (soon to be the Scottish not-so-Highlands), a quick look at the Met Office’s news might help:

After a short lull, winds will increase from the southwest during the course of Saturday with severe gales affecting coastal districts, bringing gusts of 60-70 mph and isolated 80 mph at the most exposed locations within the Amber warning area. Large waves are also expected to affect southwest facing coasts. Further inland, gusts of 50-60 mph are likely.

Oh?

Following the clearance of overnight rain, clearing skies have allowed road surface temperatures to fall below freezing. This will allow ice to form on untreated surfaces for a time, before temperatures rise later this morning.

Such are the facts…
