Spurs Balls: Bring Back AVB All If Forgiven – And Tim Sherwood Is A Shoo-In For The England Job

HOW they cheered when Tim Sherwood replaced Andrew Villas-Boas as Spurs manager. Tim was a “man’s man”. Tim would get Spurs into a brilliant fifth.

And then it came to pass that Tim proved himself to be not all that good. In fact, he is worse then AVB.

In the 2012-13 season, when AVB was in charge, Spurs scores 72 points from 38 games. That’s 1.89 points a game. One season earlier, that would have been enough to secure third place.

In the 2011-2012 season, with noble Englisher Redknapp in charge, Spurs scored 69 points from 38 games. That’s an average of 1.82 point per game.

There was talk of Harry for England. Harry Redknapp’s biographer, Martin Samuel, wrote:

Tears will be shed, however, if the obvious candidate for the job — Harry Redknapp — takes one look at the wreckage along Wembley Way and runs a mile….

The FA do not need 20 men to manage England. They need one. And they’ve got one. His name is Harry Redknapp…

Brilliant Redknapp then guided QPR to a relegation to the Championship, where they are in the play-off zone.

AVB went to the Russian Premier League. As coach of Zenit St Petersburg, he has doing better than ok. The Mail reports:

No manager in the history of the Russian top flight has enjoyed such a winning start and, in doing so, Zenit are back on top of the division with three games remaining.

The Daily Mailwent for AVB like a UKip submarine nosing a li-lo full of asylum-seeking Syrians off the coast of Bournemouth. All the wins under Tim were down to him; the defeats were a hangover from AVB, the man in the German car. The Mail went for AVB with gusto.

And under Tim, Spurs can finish on a maximum points total off…69.

Yeah. According to the Mail, that’s enough for Tim to be England manager. But this record is not as good as Portuguese manager AVB’s tally, billed by the Mail as “the man who knew too little”.

So. Did Spurs jettison AVB too quickly? Well, you can debate that, but he’s certainly not worse than Tim, who has drilled such style and substance into Spurs that they have lost to West Ham for the third time this season. This is how the Spurs wall behaved when The Hammers scored.

That sound you hear is AVB laughing:
