Manchester United Balls: Toni Kroos Agrees A Deal Then Discusses It Later
IN today’s instalment of Transfer Balls, the Express says Manchester United have bought Bayern Munich’s Tony Kroos. The headline states:
MANCHESTER UNITED have agreed a deal with Bayern Munich for attacker Toni Kroos
And it’s all true because in January 2012, Express editor Hugh Whittow told the Leveson Inquiry:
“we don’t twist anything. We just present the news of the day.”
So. Kroos is at United. FACT!
Yep, you know what’s coming…
The Red Devils have been in talks with the Bundesliga champions over a suitable deal for the last two months, but David Moyes’ sacking created an obstacle.
From “agreed a deal”, the clubs are now “in talks”.
However, reports claim the deal has made significant progression after Louis Van Gaal formally replaced the Scot on Monday, with the ‘principles of an agreement’ now in place.
And now it’s just “reports claim” progress has been made.
The Germany midfielder is approaching the final year of his contract and Bayern are looking to sell to avoid Kroos leaving on a free next summer. And the Dutch boss is keen to make the 24-year-old one of his first signings as he looks to rebuild a broken United.
Is anyone else keen on the brilliant German midfielder – maybe a team in the Champions’ League?
PS – after the Express creates balls to deadline, the Manchester Evening News yells “Kroos deal done” and the Daily Mirror reports “United have agreed deal in principle with Bayern for midfielder Toni Kroos. Both papers cite the Express as their trusty source.
More transfer balls every day.
