Transfer Balls: Arsenal Buy Adrien Rabiot As Manchester United Parade Vidal
TRANSFER Balls: Are Arsenal buying Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot? Let’s see what balls the media has been reproting.
The Metro says the Gunners have bid £11.9million for the player. The paper says his agent is in London to finalise the deal.
In another story from today, the trusty Metro notes “Arsenal are not thought to be close to signing anyone”.
It’s almost as if the Metro makes it up as it goes along.
On August 26, the Express said PSG had “dropped their asked price to just £9.5m”. The paper also noted that Spurs and Chelsea wanted the player.
On August 27, Sports Illustrated said Spurs were lining up an £8m bid for Rabiot.
That same day, the Star reported:
Man Utd’s impending Vidal deal leaves Arsenal’s move for Adrien Rabiot in ruins
How so?
The proposed move for the Chile could end Arsenal’s bid to land Rabiot however, as Juventus could look to outbid the north London side with their newly added funds.
Well, it could. Or it couldn’t. Or maybe the two moves have no impact on one another whatsoever. Maybe Gary Jones has a deadline to hit at the Star and needs a story, desperately.
Maybe he should read his colleague’s work. Bruce Archer told Star readers that the deal was done on August 16.
Such are the facts…
