Transfer Balls: Manchester United Pay £40m For Artuo Vidal And Line Up Joao Moutinho Instead
TRANSFER Balls loves a story that nags and nags. All summer long Manchester United have been linked with a move for Juventus’ captain Arturo Vidal.
On July 14, the Daily Mail said Manchester United would not buy Vidal.
But there were tabloid “hints” that Vidal wanted to play for United.
On July 5, the very important sounding International Business Times said United had bought Vidal for £40m.
The Metro told readers in July:
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a £44m offer for Juventus powerhouse Arturo Vidal as Arsene Wenger looks to beef up his midfield options… Manchester United are known to be big admirers of the 27-year-old, but he has made it clear he wouldn’t sign for a club that is not playing in the Champions League.
That was followed by the Star’s news that – yep – Vidal was a Manchester United player.
Today – DEADLINE DAY – the Mail tells us that Manchester United always wasnted Vidal but have failed to land him for £30m.
The Metro – owned by the Mail’s owners – says Manchester United are now ofering nearly £40m for the player.
No, says the Express, it’s Joao Moutinho Manchester United want.
That “massive clue”?
There isn’t one. It exsits only in the headline.
More balls to follow…
