Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck Leaves Manchester United With A Falcao-Sized Festering Sore
MATT Barlow asks Daily Mail readers if Manchester United were right to sell Danny Welbeck to Arsenal.
Louis van Gaal and Ed Woodward have allowed him to join a direct top-four rival, without ever knowing how good he was or can be, and without ever giving him an extended run in the central position he prefers.
How are United fans feeling?
[Welbek’s] move to London has left a sore festering in the red half of the same northern city.
How distraught are those United fan? Not very. As Pies note, a lot of United fans have started to warm to their club’s head honcho, at least judging by this superbly made mock-up of a film poster posted on Reddit. “From Fellaini To Falcao” indeed….
Welbeck makes way for Radamel Falcao, who Barlow tells readers has “a spectacular goal record”.
United fans must be gutted.
Of course, Barlow is writing after Welbeck scored a brace for England. Way back on August 26, when Welbeck was in the Manchester United team beaten by the MK Dons, Mail readers learnt:
Welbeck 6 – Had his chances but is unlikely to have convinced Van Gaal he’s worthy of a place.
So much for Danny Welbeck the hero and Van Gaal not knowing what he lost…
