This might be the finest offer of corporate sponsorship ever. It is simply, in it’s initial form, so perfect that the refusal of the donation is absurd. For what one of the porn sites on the web did was offer a donation to one of the charities dealing with breast cancer. More than that, it offered a sum of money for each video of boobies watched in the relevant, let’s all be aware of breast cancer, month:
In 2012, the Susan G Komen Foundation declined a donation from Pornhub.com which had raised one cent for every boob video viewed on the site,
The original offer is simply so perfect that to refuse it risks being seen as humourless, even obdurate. For obviously, those looking at such titty films are those who appreciate (even in a rather more active fashion than we might think suitable in a public place) the female form and that specific part of it, the breast. And that month of the year that is dedicated to raising the awareness of breast cancer would seem to be a suitable time of year for those with such appreciation to pay for it. After all, those who look at boob videos are indeed likely to be those who would wish to see them not ravaged by the surgeon’s knife, not lopped off as a result of cancer.
That the Komen foundation refused the donation is bordering upon reprehensible. After all, as Vespasian said to his son Titus, “Pecunia non olet*”.
* For those not rich enough in maturity to have suffered a classically based education, the one was a Roman Emperor, as was the second. And the son complained to the father when the first had imposed a tax upon the public latrines in Ancient Rome. Along the lines of, well, it’s not quite on, a bit smelly perhaps (metaphorically), to raise money to pay for the glorious Empire from piss and shit isn’t it? To which the response was, roughly, “the money don’t smell though, does it lad?”
