QPR Balls: Harry Redknapp Out, Tony Pulis In And Glenn Hoddle For Now
FOOTBALL Balls: In his Daily Mail Football Grapevine. Rob Shepherd has facts for QPR fans:
Tony Pulis is being lined as Harry Redknapp’s successor at QPR.
QPR fans might have mixed feelings about Pulis, Redknapp’s colleague from his Bournemouth days. But he did well for Crystal Palace last year.
But then the facts come:
The word on the grapevine is that Redknapp may only have two games to save his job.
Or he may not. And if Redknapp does go, the Glenn Hoddle remains:
Hoddle could well be asked to hold the fort in the short term… Grape Vine sources say club owner Tony Fernandes may well see Pulis as the best man to lead Rangers…
Maybe those sources are the Daily Telegraph, which noted on Octber 6:
Fans sent messages to Fernandes on Twitter that Redknapp should be replaced by Tony Pulis, the former Stoke City and Crystal Palace manager, while Ferdinand’s presence has also sparked talk of Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham Hotspur head coach, taking over at Loftus Road.
Responding to supporters’ calls for Redknapp to be sacked, Fernandes posted a message on Twitter that read: “Is sacking the answer. When we let Mark Hughes go we still went down. Is it tactics, is it players, is it coaching, is it fitness.”
And as the Mail said a few days earlier:
Such are the facts…
