Transfer Balls: Manchester United sell Robin Van Persie in ‘secret’ and to Lazio for £10m
Transfer Balls: Manchester United have sold Robin Van Persie in secret? The Daily Mirror’s lead sports story is that Robin Van Perie has left Manchester United without knowing he’s left Manchester United.
Was his signature on a new contract with a new club forged? Did a stunt double take his medical examination? Or is it that the Mirror is talking balls?
Could be.
David McDonnell reports:
Robin van Persie is being driven out of Manchester United and sold behind his back. That is the astonishing claim of Pierre van Hooijdonk, a former Feyenoord and Holland team-mate of the United striker.
In other words, RVP is not being sold in secret.
Van Hooijdonk’s shocker only get bigger whn he reveals:
“Robin’s contract expires next year, so this is the moment when United can still get money for him.”
No, sh*t, Sherlock.
In presvious Van Persie news:
Daily Mirror, March 25: “The striker has hit 10 goals for United this season but at 31-years-old could be looking for one last big money move before the end of his career”
Daily Star, June 7: “Manchester United striker Robin van Persie AGREES £10m Lazio move on four-year deal”
Such are the facts.
