Transfer Balls: Raheem Sterling cries off training as suitable treatment sought for mystery illness
Raheem Sterling is still on Liverpool’s books. He won’t be for very much longer. HE doesn’t even want to train with the Reds, failing to attend training with Liverpool this morning after, as the Times says, “informing the club that he is unwell only 24 hours following his request to be omitted from their pre-season tour to Australia and the Far East.”
Get well soon, Raheem.
In keeping with club protocol, Liverpool will despatch a doctor to Sterling’s home address in Birkdale where the 20-year-old will be examined and, if necessary, prescribed suitable treatment.
Maybe a spot of sun in, say, Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium will sort him out?
Regardless of his desire to leave, Liverpool maintain that Sterling will continue to be treated in accordance with his contract and expect him to return to training as soon as he is well enough to do so and to make himself for their forthcoming pre-season tour.
If they really expect that, we wonder what are they smoking at Liverpool?
