Gaddafi Has Already Won The War In Libya: The US, UK And UN Lose
COLONEL Muammar Gaddafi is some kind of mad genius. As soon as the UN Security Council issues Resolution 1973 to give support to military action against the Libyan Army under Gaddafi, mad dog announces an immediate ceasefire. Libya is now under an arms embargo, in a no-flight zone and has had its assets frozen.
Here’s a few highlights from the UN decree:
“Further condemning acts of violence and intimidation committed by the Libyan authorities against journalists, media professionals and associated personnel and urging these authorities to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law as outlined in resolution 1738 (2006)…
Amen to that.
“Considering that the widespread and systematic attacks currently taking place in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya against the civilian population may amount to crimes against humanity…”

Guardian Sees 100,000 Palestinians And No Hamas Thugs: Biased Reporting In Gaza
A PALESTINIAN protest for unity took place on the West Bank and Gaza. The protesters want Hamas and Fatah to unite. AFP reports:
“They attacked us, 400 to 500 Hamas men in plain clothes. I was beaten with a club, many others were beaten,” said one activist, who gave only his first name Ali.
How many protesters braved the goons? Well, The Guardian doesn’t mention the Hamas reaction. Instead you get to read:
Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas prime minister, called on Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas to meet him “to launch a comprehensive dialogue”. In Ramallah, Abbas said elections were the “only way to end this ugly and unacceptable division”.

Japan Earthquake: An Angry God Protected Catholic Akita From Destruction (Say Catholics)
THE Catholic News Agency has published a story that seems to suggest the Catholics are getting a special protection from the earthquake and the tsunami that hit Japan. It wasn’t the global warming nor the whales nor the stars that triggered the tsunami – it was a mighty Catholic God:
The epicenter of the earthquake that caused a deadly March 11 tsunami is located near the site of an apparition in which Mary warned about a worldwide disaster that could afflict humanity.
…The city of Akita, which experienced fire damage and flooding along with many parts of northern Japan, is a place of veneration for Catholics.
In 1973, the Virgin Mary was said to have predicted a number of future events – including natural disasters even more serious than Friday’s earthquake and tsunami – during three appearances to a Japanese religious sister, Sr. Agnes Sasagawa.
…”If men do not repent and better themselves, God the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity,” Mary reportedly told Sr. Agnes. “It will be a punishment greater than the (biblical) flood, such as never seen before.”
“Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful,” she said. “The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church, in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops.”
…Reports from Akita following Friday’s earthquake indicate that the city received significantly less damage than other parts of northern Japan, despite its proximity to the epicenter. However, residents did report power outages, burst pipes, and fires…

Justin Bieber Plays London’s 02 With His Flies Undone: Photos
JUSTIN Bieber was at London’s O2 venue. When the countdown clock struck Bieber Time, the Violet Elizabeth Bott and Little Jimmy Osmond love child arrived on stage with his flies undone. Hey, don’t be too harsh. Firstly, he’s a popstar and soon all the cool kids will be doing it. Secondly, “Look, ma, no pull ups!”
He then played an acoustic guitar as he flew in a caged heart. The kidz loved it. Mum and dad wondered why they spent £15 on a programme. Enjoy the photos:
Biased BBC Ignores Palestinian Who Slit A Jewish Baby’s Throat In Itamar
THE biased BBC plays it hand badly as it reports on the murder of five Israelis by a Palestinian. When the biased report first went up, the words “kills five Israelis” were couched in inverted commas. Why? The thing was a fact. Later it was amended and the inverted comas wrapped around the word “Palestinian”. “Kills” remained. Not murdered. Not massacred. “Kills.”
Here’s what the BBC reports – the story is illustrated by a photo of an armed Israeli soldier:
Officials have blamed Palestinians for the overnight attack, which left a couple, two children and a baby dead in the Itamar settlement, near Nablus.
Here’s what another report says:
Hamas handed out candy last night as residents took to the streets of the southern Gazan city of Rafah to celebrate the brutal terror attack in Itamar, where five members of a single Israeli family were murdered in their home, including three children, one of whom was three years old, and another, a baby girl, was just three months old. An 11-year old boy was killed as he lay reading in bed. The children and baby had their throats slit.

Japan Earthquake: Millions Saved By Good Engineering And Technology
JAPAN Earthquake news headlines focus on the doom. But what about the wonder of humanity that created buildings able to withstand a tsunami? What about that, warmists? What about thinking how much worse it would have been without human ingenuity?
As Dave Ewing Tweets:
“The headline you won’t see: ‘Millions saved in Japan by good engineering and government building codes’. But it’s the truth.”

Al Qaeda’s Al-Shamikha Magazine For Women Bombs: Photos And Beauty Tips
SALES figures for Al Qaeda’s new 31-page Al-Shamikha magazine (The Majestic Woman) are not yet made public. But given that the magazine offers tips for keeping “marrying a mujahideen” and detonating your explosive vest, the sales figures may plateau and then bomb, literally.
On still more positive notes, the magazine might be the only one in existence where the readers can look every bit as sexy and attention worthy as the gorgeous cover girl.

Global Warming Caused Japan Earthquake: Fact
THE Japan Earthquake was caused by… Well, if in doubt, blame climate change and man:
Treehugger knows:
I know headlines like that might just make most folks roll their eyes at this point — I mean, what doesn’t climate change cause these days, am I right? And I realize that people are skeptical of news-cycle tie-ins, like this very story appears to be. But just because it’s sort of depressing to keep tabs on all of the myriad impacts of ol’ climate change occurring the world over, doesn’t mean we should be glossing over facts like this: Geologists believe that global warming may already be causing more earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. After all, screwing with the world’s ornery climate system to the extent which we have is bound to have far-reaching effects — effects like huge amounts of melting ice causing the earth’s crust to “bounce” up, potentially triggering earthquakes.
Which makes sense. And if you ask me, now is a perfectly apt time to be analyzing such possible causal relationships, like the one between climate change and earthquakes (which set off tsunamis). You are, after all, perhaps turning to a green site like TreeHugger to examine the environmental implications of various world events. But some insist this reeks of opportunism (especially those amongst the anti-climate crowd) — and therefore should be immediately written off as sensationalism.
Don Surber reacts: “Are these people mentally ill?”

Human Trafficking: The White Hollywood Star’s Burden
Self-styled modern-day abolitionists like Oscar winner Mira Sorvino are doing migrant women no favours
ON the centenary of International Women’s day, in the swanky halls of Lancaster House in London, Oscar-winning actress and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Mira Sorvino presented an art installation dedicated to victims of human trafficking. Made up of faceless, nude, dull-coloured mannequins trapped behind barbed wire, this conceptual piece of art, unveiled at a launch event for a new UN grants fund for trafficking victims, is not hard to interpret.
The message is that millions of people, mostly women and children, are trapped in dehumanising conditions and are in need of rescue. Queue western celebrities, international development organisations and crime prevention agencies dedicated to combating ‘modern-day slavery’. As Sorvino put it before cutting the ribbon:
“[Trafficking victims] can’t speak for themselves – yet. But that’s what we’re trying to do… The trust fund will hopefully help emancipate them and give them a voice.”

Japan Earthquake Photos: 80,000 Missing In Nameless Apocalypse
HOW do you report on the earthquake in Japan? Unlike volcanoes and hurricanes earthquakes don’t get names. They are just a number. This one is said to have hit 8.9 on the Richter scale. And then there is the next grim number – the one that says how many people died.
The newspapers agree that 1000 people are feared dead.
The BBC reports:
Japanese police told Kyodo news agency 433 people are confirmed to have died and 784 more are missing.
Or as the Mirror puts it:
Hundreds dead and up to 80,000 missing in Japan tsunami
It’s a big number. And, as yet, we have no single face to cling to that makes sense of it.
