Crimes Against Music, No.1: ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ By Joe Cocker
Crimes against music, no.1: ‘With A Little Help From my Friends’ by Joe Cocker
IN 1968, the world of pop music was beginning to fragment, as ‘serious’ musicians were began to establish a new order. This sea change was symbolised by a single Beatles number: ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ – the ‘Ringo song’ from Sgt Pepper. When Joe Cocker released his cover version, the accompanying ad featured a cartoon Starr with a speech bubble that ran: ‘Hey Joe, don’t make it bad… Take a sad song and make it better.’ The contrast between the dapper drummer, pictured in his Carnaby Street clobber, and the wild-looking Cocker could not have been clearer. It was a graphic illustration of the divergent ‘pop’ and ‘rock’ sensibilities that had now emerged.

Environmentalists Wage Maryland Tomato Wars
GREEN Shirt environmentalist Mike Tidwell is beyond parody, or the work of a comic genius.
Ten years ago, I put solar panels on my roof and began eating locally grown food. I bought an energy-efficient refrigerator that uses the power equivalent of a single light bulb. I started heating my home with a stove that burns organically fertilized corn kernels. I even restored a gas-free lawn mower for manual yardwork.
Let the carbon-sucking grass grow!
As a longtime environmental activist, I was deeply alarmed by new studies on global warming, so I went all out. I did my part.
That was then:
Today, underneath the solar panels, there’s a new set of deadbolt locks on all my doors. There’s a new Honda GX390 portable power generator in my garage, ready to provide backup electricity. And last week I bought a starter kit to raise tomatoes and lettuce behind barred basement windows.
Shhh! The tomato bandits might here:
It was the global food riots of 2008 and 2010 that led me to replace the 50-year-old locks on all my doors last fall. I’m not normally the paranoid type, but when extreme weather alternately baked and flooded wheat fields in Australia and Russia, helping to jack up grain prices more than 40 percent worldwide and leading hungry people to protest from Mexico to Mozambique to Serbia, I took notice.
African tomato thieves, we’d wager. The lack of fresh lettuce makes them wild:.
We’re running out of time. The proof is everywhere … our weather has gone haywire … I’m not crazy. Just wait …
Waiting…
After the August storm, I made the financially painful decision to buy the Honda generator. My solar panels, by themselves, can’t power my home. I spent $1,000 on the generator, money that would have gone into my 13-year-old son’s college fund. I’ve expanded my definition of how best to plan for his future.
Guns!
People don’t sit still when food gets scarce. Indeed, when the options are extreme hunger or pillaging the neighboring village, history tends to favor pillaging.
So I even took my first-ever lesson in firearms use last December … wouldn’t even a level-headed person want to be ready to defend his family if climate chaos goes to the max?
Too late! The Serbs have read your piece. They are walking West:
My wife and son, meanwhile, have obviously noticed the changes I’m making around the house.
Have they gone to get help?
Rupert Murdoch, Sky News And The Avaaz Myth: What’s Your Agenda?
RUPERT Murdoch says that if his News Corporation gains control of BSkyB, he would hive off the Sky News channel into a new independent company in which it would retain a 39% stake. And his firm will fund the channel for 10 years. Great. We get lots of telly – and the option to pay for it if we want to or not. The BBC gets a genuine rival – although we do have to pay for the BBC. And Channel 5 (owned by Richard Desmond, who also owns the Muslim toilet bashing Daily Star) gets the chance to be the right-wing news channel the left wing media loves to moan about.

John Galliano, Colin Jordan And Dior’s Nazi Links
OVERLOOKING the fact that Hitler liked to kill zer gays, we bring news of John Galliano and Karl Largerfeld. Galliano has been sacked by house of Dior – the fashion palace created by Christian Dior whose niece Francoise Dior married the English Nazi Colin Jordan in 1963.
READ: Leyton Aggression Boils Over: It’s 1965 And World Führer Colin Jordan Is At Large
Galliano is to face trial in Paris over alleged racial insults. He could go to jail for six months, if convicted.
John ” I love Hitler” Galliano wants to explain:
Since the events of last Thursday evening I have not been able to make any public comment on what took place based upon advice from my French lawyer. However, given the continuing delays at the French Prosecutor’s Office I should make my position clear.I completely deny the claims made against me and have fully co-operated with the police investigation.
A number of independent witnesses have given evidence and have told the police that I was subjected to verbal harassment and an unprovoked assault when an individual tried to hit me with a chair having taken violent exception to my look and my clothing. For these reasons I have commenced proceedings for defamation and the threats made against me.
However, I fully accept that the accusations made against me have greatly shocked and upset people.
I must take responsibility for the circumstances in which I found myself and for allowing myself to be seen to be behaving in the worst possible light.
I only have myself to blame and I know that I must face up to my own failures and that I must work hard to gain people’s understanding and compassion. To start this process I am seeking help and all I can hope for in time is to address the personal failure which led to these circumstances and try and earn people’s forgiveness.
I have fought my entire life against prejudice, intolerance and discrimination, having been subjected to it myself. In all my work my inspiration has been to unite people of every race, creed, religion and sexuality by celebrating their cultural and ethnic diversity through fashion. That remains my guiding light.
Anti-semitism and racism have no part in our society. I unreservedly apologise for my behaviour in causing any offence.

Can Porn Missionary Charlie Sheen Destroy The Therapy Industry?
CHARLIE Sheen is not a dissolute fornicator. He is missionary saving fallen women, like Bree Olson, nee Rachel Oberlin. Sheen has told Howard Stern that he got Olson to collect her golden c*ock and retire from the porn business.
Bree is now with Sheen at his home, the one he calls “Sober Valley Lodge“. How he got her to retire is one of the few things Sheen has not yet shared with his followers on Twitter, which has replaced Two & A Half Men as the hottest show in town. The expert opinion is that you can’t make a lucrative come back unless you’ve retired; or that everyone want to make sacrifices to meet Emilio Estevez.
Sheen is currently living with Natalie Kenly and the resting Bree Olson. Says Olson on Twitter:
“I don’t do drugs and neither does anybody around me. I used to drink occasionally and don’t even do that anymore. Yeah, I love sex, so what?”

Raoul Moat: David Cameron’s Hoodie Shoots Pc Rathband
RAOUL Moat: Pc David Rathband is at Newcastle Crown Court. He’s giving evidence at the trial of Qhuram Awan, 23, and Karl Ness, 26, who are alleged to have aided Moat willingly. The men deny conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, a firearms offence and robbery.
It’s front-page news because a woman has allegedly said something to Pc Rathband. The Mirror reports:
THE hero policeman blinded by gunman Raoul Moat was yesterday targeted by a sick joker who yelled “bang, bang” behind his back. PC David Rathband, 43, was walking into a court when the woman struck, making a vile shooting gesture with her hand.
Is this the same vile gesture young hoodie Ryan Florence made to David Cameron in 2007, the one the Daily Mirror said displayed his “sense of humour”?
Pc Rathband was blinded when Moat shot him the face. But the 22-year-old woman with the hand gesture never shot him. Sky News calls it a “prank”.
A witness said: “PC Rathband was approaching the front of the court building when this woman stepped out behind him and went ‘bang, bang’. He was being accompanied by a family liaison officer who turned round and saw this woman making a gun sign. It was extremely offensive.”
In court, Qhuram Awan says he was only with the 37-year-old because he was afraid of him. He kept a diary, in which he wrote:
“It’s all getting too much now. It’s like a cross between GTA and Jason Bourne.”
GTA is short for Grand Theft Auto, the video game. Yep, a lot like the one the Daily Star said have issued a special Rothbury edion to cah in on maot murder and mayhem. The one the Daily Star covered in a bollocks story and was forced to apologise for. Intrerstingly, the Star makes no mention of Awan’s GTA comments in its paper…

Irish Cricket Doctors Cure England Fans Of Australian Delusions
IRELAND have beaten England in the Cricket World Cup. After the coin toss – which England lent to the Irish captain at a pretty favourable rate – Ireland handed a lump of wood to a passing tourist, later revealed to be one Kevin O’Brien, and told him to hit the small, hard football. He could work out the rules of the game later. Just hit it and see if he can pick it up.
O’Brien went on to score the fastest century in Cricket World Cup history, smashing smashed 113 off 63 balls.
England fans still suffering from psychotic episodes developed by sleep depravation in which it appeared the English beat Australia in a Test while Andrew Strauss abseiled to Mars on Leo Sayer’s curls, wept with relief as they were declared “cured”.

Charlie Sheen Is Enabled By The Tabloid Media: And We Love It
CHARLIE Sheen is providing fun copy just now. He’s shagging porn stars, getting off his face and giving the kind of quotes that can fill a tabloid with debate about his status as a role model (in the tabloids, everyone is a role model when they’ve been on the telly). But without the media would Charlie Sheen exist? Sheen’s love of the limelight suggests that he exists only to be on view. Exposure is what he is.
Julie Moos writes in Poynter:
Sheen has appeared on “The Alex Jones Show,” “The Dan Patrick Show,” “Loose Cannons,” NBC’s “Today” show, ABC’s “Good Morning America,” and CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.” He has texted People magazine and RadarOnline and been interviewed live on TMZ.com. And he’s not done yet. Howard Stern says his show may be next. Tuesday evening, “20/20” will air a lengthy interview with the actor.
Lots of coverage for the actor who can raise hell in the cosy comfort of a home porn cinema of five star hotel suite.
The Kansas City Star’s Aaron Barnhart says “Enough’s enough” — “that the ‘enablers of tabloid journalism’ should intervene rather than interview.”

Julian Assange Blames The Gay Jews At The Guardian: Private Eye Discussions
IN Private Eye, where Anorak’s Ed toils on weekend, Ian Hislop reports a phone conversation he had withJulian Assange two weeks ago. The piece is called A Curious Conversation With Mr Assange.
Assange was upset at the Private Eye story about Wikleaks’s Russian rep Israel Shamir. Incidentally, it was Assange who told us:
“I’m not the Jewish people, but the people who believe in freedom of speech and accountability [are in the same boat].
Assange asserted that he hardly knew Shamir. And it was all a smear, fomented by the Guardian and its shibboleth of Jews. Yep, the Guardian is in the control of Jews. You have now heard it all.
[H]e went on to say that we were part of a conspiracy led by the Guardian which included journalist David Leigh, editor Alan Rusbridger and John Kampfner from Index on Censorship—all of whom “are Jewish.”
I pointed out that Rusbridger is not actually Jewish, but Assange insisted that he was “sort of Jewish” because he was related to David Leigh (they are brothers-in-law). When I doubted whether his Jewish conspiracy would stand up against the facts, Assange suddenly conceded the point. “Forget the Jewish thing.”

Nelly Furtado Donates Gaddafi Concert Money To Sting
COLONEL Muammar Gaddafi and his kids in Libya (or the Caribbean and London – whichever is closer) love a good party. When Mickey Rouke and John Galliano get to play the Libyan dictator in film, they will be able to co-star with the likes of Nelly Furtado, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé and Usher, who have all been hired to perform for the family Gaddafi in recent years.
It should be a great show – perhaps the most tortuous musical since Godspell.

John Galliano’s Paris Line Is To Die Fuhrer: Video Of Jew Face Rant
JOHN Galliano is being billed as the Mel Gibson of fashion. Galliano, a man who look exactly like Colonel Gaddafi’s performance as Captain Hook at Tony Blair’s 1998 Christmas panto places his hand on his moustache curlers and says he made no anti-semitic comments in La Perle bar, Paris. He says he never called a woman a “dirty Jew face” at a bar in Paris.
A woman called Géraldine Bloch, 35, alleges Galliano eyed up her ensemble and uttered to she and her pal:
“Dirty Jewish face, you should be dead. Fucking Asian bastard, I will kill you.”
The Sun has gotten hold of video shot by someone in the bar. It says you can hear Galliano saying:
“I love Hitler.”
No, not “I love Hitler in brown – those deep chocolate tones are so now. To die for. Really. They. Are. To. Die. Fur-her. Gerrit?!”

Colin Firth Says K-K-K-Kerching: Oscars Winners In Photos
TO all the winners of a Golden Gopher, a BAFTA, a SAG, a Crystal Meth, a Bronze Turd any other film award shoe-horned around the Oscars: unlucky. They don’t matter. It’s all about the Oscars. The film industry is all about the money, and winning an Oscar means making more money. As Colin Firth might say in the kind of English accent Americans like: k-k-k-kerching!

Vogue Salutes Syria’s Dictator’s Wife Asma al-Assad For Being Thin
A FAINT sneery rustle of controversy over US Vogue‘s embarrassingly timed profile of Syria’s first lady, Asma al-Assad, 35. As Middle Eastern and north African regimes topple all about its borders and beyond, and Syria itself beats down rioters and restricts internet access, here comes a piece of scented puffery which lauds the wife of President Bashar al-Assad, who won 97% of the vote in the 2000 election.
You can’t buy that kind of charisma. Or may be you can.
Apparently, the first lady is the nation’s Mother Theresa. Wisely, she leaves the jewels at home while ministering to the dirt poor. She’s a strange kind of saintly figure, however. The Vogue piece recounts how she cruelly tells a bunch of children that their school is to be closed down. As infantile blubs start up she reveals she’s only joking – ‘I just wanted to see how much you care about Massar,’ she says of her charity.

Ashley Cole Shoots A Poor Student At Chelsea: John Terry Unharmed
ASHLEY Cole has, allegedly, shot a man. Given his prowess in front of goal for Chelsea and England, you might suppose Cole shot and missed. But no. The NoTW says he hit Tom Cowan, a 21-year-old “student” on a work placement with Chelsea.
Cole, reportedly, was messing about with the .22 gun at Chelsea’s training ground. Cowan was 5ft away when the gun went off.
The paper says “blood [was] pouring from his side”.
In case you were uncertain where your sympathies should lie, readers are told:
On Wednesday injured Tom – who earns only a tiny fraction of Cole’s wages in his work placement role – was asked to attend a three-hour meeting with anxious Chelsea officials in the office of assistant first team coach Bruno Demichelis.

Charlie Sheen To Direct Cheers-Friends Porn Parody TV Show
CHARLIE Sheen was not mentioned when his dad Martin Sheen and brother Emillio Estevez rocked up to the Jameson Dublin Film Festival to promote ‘The Way‘. But Sheen, aka Elephant Crack, been busy calling into a radio talk show.
As a result of the call, Two And A Half Men, the CBS sitcom that we only started watching after Sheen locked an orangey porn start called Capri Sun in his closet and opened Kacey Jordan’s womb to frenzied debate, is on a long, long break.
CBS and Warner Bros announce:
“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of ‘Two and a Half Men’ for the remainder of the season.”
