Fluoride Damages American Teeth And Makes You Stupid, Maybe
THE fluoride in drinking water is harming the teeth of American children. So says the US Government. It wants the amount of fluoride reduced.
But if it isn’t and damage has already been done, will there be an American generation with British teeth? Well, no. Kelli and Brad will get their gnashers capped with the stuff they use to coat the space shuttle’s belly and then coloured in with Tipp-Ex.
But what about the UK? In 2008, then Health Secretary Alan Johnson called for fluoride to be added to England’s water supplies. He then did as all arse-covering politicians must and called for a big debate. No decision would be made until… Well, when? When are all the facts ever known? And then who makes the final decision if not the elected head who has access to research and vested interest groups?

Simone Back Died On Facebook Because Mental Illness Is Mocked
SIMONE Back, 42 and living in Brighton, posted on her Facebook Wall a Christmas Day message:
“Took all my pills be dead soon so bye bye every one.”
She had 1,048 friends. None of them called the authorities. Did they do this because modern life is about watching without engagement?
She took the pills. Simone Back died. Her body was found when her mother, Jennifer Langridge, heard of the message and called the police. That was 17 hours the original post.

EastEnders Cot Death Horror: Pat’s Face Cancer And Ian’s Diarrhea
THAT EastEnders baby swap/ cot death / psychotic mummy storyline is slice of life stuff. If you have been affected by anything you’ve seen on the BBC show, then you’re probably too far gone to find your own arse with one hand.
News is that Samantha Womack, who plays miserable nutter Ronnie Branning, is so disgusted by the plot she must have known about before she acted it out that she’s quit.
Since it aired, she’s been accosted in the street by a person who called her “a murdering ****’”
The person then asked Sam why EastEnders is no much less depressing than real life. Why-oh-why has no-one been mauled to death by a muscular family pet?

Dream Pharma, Legal Murder And The Persecution Of Mehdi Alavi
DREAM Pharma makes drugs used to legally kill prisoners in the care of the Arizona State Prison service. Anorak brought you this news in October 2009.
Now the mainstream press have got wind of it. All over the papers is news that Dream Pharma is run by Mehdi Alavi froma space behind the Elgone Driving Academy in Horn Lane, Acton. The company sold drugs to the value of £4,528, specifically 150 vials of sodium thiopental, 180 vials of potassium chloride and 450 vials of pancuronium bromide.
Says Mr Alavi:
“I’ve no comment.”
He then commented:
“I’m not as articulate as many people. I refrain to make any comments.”
A director of Reprieve, a Clive Stafford Smith, speaks to the press. (“Reprieve uses the law to enforce the human rights of prisoners, from death row to Guantánamo Bay”):
“Dream Pharma asserts that selling these drugs was no different from selling a hammer in a hardware shop. The analogy is apposite only if we include one fact: the customer told the salesman that he planned to bludgeon someone to death with it outside the store.”

Joanna Yeates: The Sun Owns ‘Our Jo’ And Debating Chris Jefferies’s Death
JOANNA Yeates: Chris Jefferies might take some money from the papers being assassinated by the media. He might take money from Avon and Somerset Police, who chose not to say that he was “helping us with our enquiries”, preferring to tell us that he was suspected of murder.
Chris Jefferies is on the front page of the Mirror:
“I DIDN’T KILL HER”
This is an “exclusive”. Mr Jefferies has been speaking with “Baptist minister Irving Steggles. He tells us:
“He was quite frustrated but he is not angry – he is not an angry man. He knows he is innocent and I think he is quite upbeat. He wants to rebuild his reputation and he is looking to the future. He was just utterly surprised to be arrested.”
What of his state of being?
He is an emotionally well balanced man – he is psychologically strong. He is a strong person. He has got a good support group. I think he will come through this. He is a man with a very high view of justice.”
Remember when Robert Murat was being spoken of as a possible suicide by a vindictive press? Mr Jefferies’s “survival” is now a topic of tabloid discussion.

Kyron Horman: Terri Horman Takes The Fifth As Police And Kaine Horman Fail
KYRON Horman is still missing. Time for a round-up of the news since Anorak last reported on the case of the missing Portland boy and the police-sanctioned media witch hunt of would-be terrorist Terri Horman (the boy’s step-mother). The police have yet to ascertain if any crime befell Kyron. The case has gone nowhere. The disappearance of Kyron Horman has turned into a voracious media feeding frenzy.
Kyron Horman: The Search Becomes A ‘Witch Hunt’
The Suspects:
Police have interviewed 490 people who were at the Skyline School when Kyron went missing on June 4, 2010. They are not certain they have spoken to everyone.
“I think about this case constantly,” said Multnomah County sheriff’s Sgt. Keith Krafve. “Our biggest hurdle: We don’t have the kid, alive or dead.”l
The Divorce:
Kaine Horman, Kyron’s natural father, is seeking a divorce from Terri Moulton Horman. But there is no date for it to happen.
Back in October 2010, Terri Horman’s lawyer Peter Bunch…
…convinced a judge to delay the divorce proceedings for 90 days, arguing that the divorce case should not continue while an ongoing criminal investigation proceeds into Kyron’s disappearance.
This is because the twin cases could…
…jeopardize Terri Horman’s Fifth Amendment rights not to incriminate herself. Bunch argued that law enforcement are trying to obtain discovery through the civil proceeding for the ongoing criminal case.
Can anyone not agree with Bunch? Kaine Horman has filed an affidavit. In it:
Kaine Horman called his wife an “emotionally disturbed individual” in the affidavit, referred to her failed polygraph tests and claimed alcohol abuse impaired her functioning since the birth of their daughter, Kiara. He said he believes Terri Horman was involved in his son’s June 4 disappearance and wondered if Kiara witnessed “some unimaginable act of horror” that day.
It’s brutal stuff. And it’s on the record. He says:
“It causes great pain to wonder if Kiara was with respondent on June 4, 2010 and witnessed some unimaginable act of horror. Until respondent begins answering questions about the events of June 4, 2010, I cannot support any contact between her and Kiara, even if supervised…
“I believe that Respondent is severely emotionally disturbed and unfit to parent Kiara. Her actions are horrifying and unexplainable,” Kaine Horman wrote. “Kiara’s physical and emotional safety are now at extreme risk.”
The Response:
Such improper and sanctionable actions by Father and his counsel must be rejected by this court,” Houze and Bunch wrote. “The inescapable conclusion is that such actions are not motivated by what is in the best interest of Kiara. … The full extent of the harm to Mother caused by these tactics is far-reaching, unacceptable and likely irreparable.”
The Media (this and the next two sections are written by the True Nelson):
The Sheriff’s Office’s mouthpiece seems to be the Oregonian, in the person of Maxine Bernstein, who it appears, has rather exclusive access. She has been remarkably unequivocal in publishing whatever information she is given, without asking any particularly hard questions. Some of the articles and information published have been unquestionably ruinous to the reputations of Terri Horman and some of her associates. Ms. Bernstein is conceivably comfortable doing this, based on First Amendment protections, and assurances that she has received solid information from the authorities. It is hard to believe that the Multnomah County District Attorney, Michael Schrunk, has not cringed when he’s read some of the Oregonian’s detailed articles. Furthermore, Ms. Bernstein likes to include in her articles, what might be considered personal homilies, like when the Sheriff recently stated that his young daughter asks him nightly when he will find Kyron. Or, that the Sheriff has taken his valuable time to escort Kyron’s biological mother, Desiree Young and her now husband, Tony, to lunch to discuss the case. Relevant or newsworthy, I’m not sure. Ploy for sympathy? I don’t know. Buying time? Maybe. In Ms. Bernstein defense, she is relatively young and perhaps a bit smitten with her inside access. A scoop is after all a scoop. The newspaper business is about selling newspapers – and she seems to be accomplishing that quite effectively.
The Sheriff’s Office investigation, and their requests for additional money, have been somewhat tainted by the revelation that some deputies are receiving as much as $18,000, in a single month, for overtime. Shocking? It was to me.
The Police:
Due to Sheriff Staton’s rather parochial experience in law enforcement, as well as the limited jurisdictional responsibilities of his agency, he has become the unfortunate principal in a complex and publicity-gone-wild investigation. To his credit, he has asked for and received some degree of support from outside agencies, including the Portland PD, the Clackamas County SO, the Washington County SO, the Oregon State Police and the FBI. Nonetheless, he has retained overall control of the investigation – clearly it is his ballgame to win or lose.
The Sheriff, perhaps not entirely comfortable with his celebrity, has – at times – made strange, questionable statements, such as ‘we’ve learned things that we wish we didn’t know.’ As of the latter part of July, he was stating that the stepmother, Terri Horman, was fully cooperating. Even though, it was becoming increasingly apparent to almost everyone that she was an undeclared, even obvious, suspect in Kyron’s disappearance. Nonetheless, with no discernible explanation, the Sheriff has, to the present date, steadfastly maintained that there is no one who is a declared suspect or even a person of interest.
Mysterious leaks, originating with the Sheriff’s Office, or other law enforcement agencies, have hit the news: ‘Terri Horman fails two polygraph tests and walks out of a third;’ ‘Terri Horman attempts to hire a “hit man” to kill her husband, Kaine;’ that Terri Horman’s cell phone indicates she was on Sauvie’s Island the day of Kyron’s disappearance – even though she denies it; and most recently that he, the Sheriff, plans to announce major investigative progress or arrests on or about February 1st – giving no rationale as to why he selected a date which is weeks away. The Sheriff seems compelled to comment with glittering generalities, almost in an effort to appear relevant, but he has been invariably reluctant to elaborate, often falling back on, “I can’t comment on that.” One wonders who is pulling the strings behind the scene. Is it the Multnomah County District Attorney?
The Media Trial:
A potential break in the case appeared when a ‘landscaper,’ who had worked for the Hormans, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that Terri had approached him about killing her husband, Kaine. This dubious allegation referenced an event that occurred many months prior to Kyron’s disappearance. The Sheriff’s Office, anxious to make an arrest, ‘wired’ the landscaper and sent him with an undercover cop to meet with Terri – and discuss the murder-for-hire proposition. When the approach was made to Terri, she was actively mourning the loss of Kyron, or at very least appearing to do so. In retrospect, the law enforcement approach and its timing was, at best, clumsy. Terri was not interested in discussing any alleged murder plots – and especially discussing them with a total stranger (the undercover cop). She called 911 and reported an attempted extortion.
The Marketing Opportunity:
A Portland company that sends coupons to users’ cellphones is helping with the search for Kyron Horman by sending out a picture of the missing boy.
Text No More is an Android phone app that encourages drivers – mostly teens and young people – to stop texting while driving by rewarding them with incentives and coupons from businesses for their good driving behaviors. While a nice gesture from the company, it is a business too. They’re donating $100 dollars to the Kyron Horman Foundation every time a new company is recruited to advertise.
Kyron Horman is missing. Is anyone looking for the innocent boy when all they can see are the parents..?

Salman Taseer Was Murdered For A Black Law: Namoos-e-Risalat Is State-Sponsored Racism
SALMAN Taseer, governor of Pakistan’s Punjab province, was murdered in Pakistan. His killer was wearing the uniform of the police. His killer fired 27 bullets into Mr Taseer. His killer is Constable Mumtaz Qadri. He is 26. To many he is a hero. So far 36 policemen have been arrested.
After the murder, Qadri uttered:
“He got the death sentence for insulting the Prophet.”
Mr Taseer had spoken out in support of Asia Bibi. She’s the Christian woman who served water to Muslim women. (More on her here.) They refused to drink water touched by an infidel. A row ensued. A local leader sentenced Babi to death for, allegedly, insulting the Prophet.

Daily Mail Links 40,000 British Muslims To Terrorists
THE Daily Mail would like its readers to know that in the past ten years 100,000 British people have converted to Islam. Or as the paper puts it:
Despite terror attacks, 100,000 Britons convert to Islam in past decade – with white women most keen to embrace Muslim faith
Yes. Those terror attacks by Islamist nutters have not yet managed to corrupt an entire religion and turn people away from a branch of spirituality.
Or maybe those white women have married Muslim men, some of whom might even be white as well?
Or maybe – just maybe – these 100,000 converts are a new model army turned onto Islam because the violence is so damn seductive?
Or maybe the headline is just utter anti-Muslim bollocks? Having read that 100,000 Britons have converted to Islam in a decade, we are later told:
In 2001 there were an estimated 60,000 Muslim converts in Britain. Since then the country has seen the spread of violent Islamist extremism and a number of terror plots against the country, including the July 7 bombings.

Joanna Yeates: Chris Jefferies Is More Robert Murat Than Serial Killer
JOANNA Yeates gave the holiday season’s media its young, female, attractive blonde victim. Anyone else killed over Christmas does not feature. Her landlord Chris Jefferies gave the media its weird, nutty, oddball figure of speculation. His character has been assassinated and then hung out to dry. Anyone looking to see if the press have learned anything from the voracious feeding frenzy after Madeleine McCann went missing can forget it. Right now Chris Jefferies has more in common with Robert Murat than any killer.
After two days in a police cells, Jefferies has been released on police bail. This tells us one thing: if Avon and Somerset Police have any evidence against him it is not enough to take him to court with.
Greg Reardon, boyfriend of Miss Yeates, says:
“The finger-pointing and character assassination by social and news media of an as yet innocent men has been shameful. It has made me lose a lot of faith in the morality of the British Press and those that spend their time fixed to the internet in this modern age.”

Joanna Yeates: Libel, Chris Jefferies And Thousands Of Student Die
JOANNA Yeates – now the media’s Jo Yeates – was killed – and her killer is at large. The police say women should take “usual” precautions to ensure their safety. Given that Joanna Yeates might have been abducted from her home, this advice seems weak.
Perhaps the usual precautions involve not talking to Chris Jefferies, the man released on police bail? The educated, erudite man billed as a “pillar of society” by one neighbour who actually knew him was monstered by the media until he morphed into something that resembled a blue-haired, child worrying, potential serial killer.

Tabloids Condemn ‘Oddball’ Chris Jefferies For Murder Of Joanna Yeates
JOANNA Yeates: Chris Jeffries is in custody. He’s the “strange” (Sun), “nutty” (Mail), good old “Mr Chips” (Express) figure suspected of murdering his blonde, 25-year-old tenant.
As for news of the case, well, Peter Stanley, 56, (pictured) says he was asked by Mr Jefferies to help jump start Greg Reardon’s car. He was Joanna’s live-in boyfriend. He needed his car to drive to Sheffield. It was while he was away that Joanna Yeates vanished. Says Mr Stanley:
“It was a non-event at the time, but absolutely poignant now – what if we didn’t get the car to start?”
Such are the facts. Small things can seem important after the event. Things like Mr Jefferies hair and his not being married. The media have his name. And they are looking at everything about him with sideways eyes.
One neighbour did call him a “pillar of society”. And he did hold down a job at Clifton College for 35 years? He rented out his flat to Joanna Yeates and her boyfriend Greg Reardon. He is the vice-chairman of his local Neighbourhood Watch team. What picture of him do such facts construct?
Attorney General, Dominic Grieve tells the BBC Radio 4 show The World At One:
“We need to avoid a situation where trials cannot take place or are prejudiced as a result of irrelevant or improper material being published, whether in print form or on the internet, in such a way that a trial becomes impossible.”
So. Mindful of that. Here’s the Mail:
A teacher who used to live in Joanna Yeates flat was jailed for sexually abusing a pupil there. Stephen Johnson taught French at Clifton College where murder suspect Jefferies also worked.

Joanna Yeates: Clifton College’s Strange Mr Jefferies Was A Gay Mr Chips
NOW that Chris Jefferies has been arrested as suspicion for the murder of JOANNA YEATES, the press can tell us about the former Clifton College teacher one former scholar at the Bristol school told us was a “weirdo… but then they were all weirdos.”
The Sun says his nickname was “The Strange Mr Jefferies”. The Star agrees. But the Express tells us:
A FORMER teacher known as “Mr Chips” was being questioned last night over the murder of Joanna Yeates.
Mr Chips, eh? That avuncular, sentimental hero of a fictional private school whom the students love?
The Sun’s Gay O’Shea has more:
THIS is Joanna Yeates murder suspect Chris Jefferies – sporting the wispy blue-rinse hairdo that saw him branded “strange” by school pupils he taught.
That’s weird actually, Gary. And there is more:
JOANNA Yeates murder suspect Chris Jefferies was last night branded a creepy oddball by ex-pupils, a teaching colleague and neighbours.
Well, now he is, yes. But didn’t one neighbour call him a “pillar of society”? And didn’t he hold down a job at the top private school for 35 years? And wasn’t he able to rent out his flat to Joanna Yeates and her boyfriend Greg Reardon? Wasn’t he the vice-chairman of his local Neighbourhood Watch team? Mr Jefferies is being monstered.

Joanna Yeates Murder: Chris Jefferies, 10,000 Reasons And A Strange Couple
JOANNA YEATES: What Chris Jefferies saw – and what the news reported.
The Sun (front page): “MYSTERY PAIR AT JOE FLAT”
“Landlord saw them with victim”
The landlord is Chris Jefferies.
Neighbours of Jo, 25, yesterday said their landlord saw her leaving home with two strangers just minutes after she returned from drinks with workmates.
Sky News’s Martin Brunt tells us:
“It would appear to be a key bit of evidence. The landlord of the flat Ms Yeates shared with her boyfriend said he was parking his car outside the building, where he also lives. He told police he saw three people leaving her flat and one of them may have been Joanna Yeates.”
Again we see a photo of Chris Jefferies.

Joanna Yeates: Greg Reardon, Cider And A Stalker
JOANNA YEATES: The cider, the boyfriend and the “pretty” victim. Anorak’s look at the murder of Bristol woman Jo Yeates in the news:
The Sun (front page): “DID JO KNOW HER KILLER?”
Dunno. The Sun says she bough two bottle of cider and a pizza before returning home. One bottle had been opened and half of it drunk. The pizza is missing.
And for those of still wondering why Jo Yeates is front-page news – and the other 27 unsolved murders in the Bristol area alone are not – the mawkish Neil Syson tells us that she was a “pretty landscape architect”.
Syson then delivers this fabulous piece of armchair detective work:
Though few clues have emerged, it appears increasingly likely a stalker or someone Jo knew managed to get into her ground-floor flat in upmarket Clifton, Bristol.
Was it someone she knew? Or was it someone she did not know? Well…
Daily Mirror (front page): “Not A Suspect”
The person not a suspect is Greg Reardon, Joanna’s boyfriend, with whom she lived. To prove how much he should be ignored, the Mirror puts a big photo of his face on its front page.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Jones tells us:
“No, he’s a witness in this investigation. There are a number of inquiries we are pursuing and at this stage, I am not prepared to speculate whether there are any suspects or what those lines of inquiry might be.”
Daily Express (front page): “Massive dragnet for the Bristol strangler”
Seventy police and support staff are on the case.
Says David Yeates, the murdered woman’s father:
“We are sure that the police know more about what happened than they are telling us, but at the moment we are not questioning them because we feel they are doing their best.”
He adds:
“Last week was the worst of our lives and we are hoping that we will never have to go through anything like this again. Things were made just that little bit less terrible when we saw Jo’s body. It was a relief to see her body again – we just said ‘welcome back’.”
