The Thick-Soled Model 271 Is The Bush Shoe

WHEN Muntader al-Zaidi tossed his shoes, he did not throw just any shoes. As Bloomberg reports:

Dec. 19 (Bloomberg) — The shoe hurled at President George W. Bush has sent sales soaring at the Turkish maker as orders pour in from Iraq, the U.S. and Iran.

The brown, thick-soled “Model 271” may soon be renamed “The Bush Shoe” or “Bye-Bye Bush,” Ramazan Baydan, who owns the Istanbul-based producer Baydan Ayakkabicilik San. & Tic., said in a telephone interview today.

Anorak recommends the curly toed Ottoman slipper, it being the only shoe that comes back to the shoe tosser.

The Age Of Obama Is Sponsored By Rick Warren’s Evangelical Industries

PREACHER RIck Warren will bring in the Age Of Obama.

Says he:

You don’t have to see eye to eye to walk hand in hand.. I have many gay friends”

And he’s just as sure on his position on other religions:

When it came time for questions, a woman stood up, proclaimed her Judaism, and asked Warren if she was going to burn in hell. He paused before responding–and then answered her question the only way it could be answered. Yes, he said to audible gasps.

Arctic Monkeys. Ruth Lorenzo. Slipknot. You name it, Gordon has listened to it.

As he sits in the living room of his Downing Street flat he is listening to the sound of his children playing with Buzz Lightyear lasers. He listens to his two-year-old son singing Happy Birthday after a friend’s birthday party.

The Making Of America’s Political Lords

IT’S a good job America has free and fair democracy and not nepotism and ruling houses:

Rod Blagojevich’s favorite pick for his local Ilinois Senate was widely regarded to be Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., the son of a someone or other.

In New York, Caroline Kennedy, daughter of so-and-so and niece to him and the bad driver is in the fray. If she gets the nod, she’ll take over from Hillary Clinton, wife to whatshisface.

Rod Blagojevich Is A Non-Republican

ROD Blagojevich is a Democrat. Unless you tune into the BBC , where he is a fmphusmph:

Following on from Laban’s post, I was listening to Radio 4 the day before yesterday at about 6.15pm. There was quite a lengthy discussion of Governor Rod Blagojevich’s corruption without, yet again, any mention of what party he represented.

The BBC is not alone. The Sydney Morning Herald’s Anne Davies manages to write about Rod Blagojevich without mentioning that Blagojevich is a non-Republican.

Blagojevich is of no politcal affiliation:

In the James Bone’s piece for The Times, and when Blago is the “Governor of his [Obama’s] home state”.

If Blago were a Republican, would his politcal party be as ignored?

Former Taiwan President Kicked In Arse And Supporters Rip Wig Off Lawmaker

WHILE Obama waits for the other shoe to drop, Su Ansheng, a member of a group promoting unification between Taiwan and China, kicks her country’s former president, Chen Shuibian in the backside.

The boy named Su kicked Mr Chen at a court hearing in July.

Last week, Mr Chen was indicted for embezzlement and money-laundering together with 13 other defendants, including his wife and son. The prosecution alleges that Mr Chen obtained $45 million in bribes.

Chen has his kickers. But he has his supporters, too.

One of that number, Huang Yung-tien, snatched the wig off the head of Kuomintang lawmaker Chiu Yi.

George Bush Hurls

GEORGE Bush salutes the shoe tosser of old Baghdad:

Martha Raddatz: Let’s start with what just happened. And that is someone threw a shoe at you, whether it’s an Iraqi reporter?

President Bush: Yeah, I think it’s a reporter. At least that’s what they told me on the way out, that it’s a person who works in the Iraqi press, stands up and throws his shoe. And it was amusing. I mean, I’ve seen a lot of weird things during my presidency and this may rank up there as one of the weirdest.

On the other hand, I do remember when the president of China came to the South Lawn, and a member of the press corps started yelling. I think it was Falun Gong slogans at the Chinese president. So this happens and it’s a sign of a free society.

In a free society you throw shoes. In America you hurl insults in a foreign language so that the goons don’t know you’re saying.

Anorak can only marvel at how free Nazi Germany was as its peoples went one better then shoes and insults and lobbed bombs and tanks at everybody…

George Bush – you’ll miss him when he’s gone…
