Margaret And Helen Say Shut The Hell Up Sarah Palin
MARGARET and Helen say: “Sarah Palin, sit down and shut the hell up!”
I thought I was done. Really I did. Obama won. Bush is almost gone. I was ready to sit back and enjoy the ride. Damn it to hell. She’s back. One day she’s standing in front of a dying turkey talking about how she needs to get back to the business of running Alaska and the next day she’s making plans to head on down to Georgia to campaign for that devil, Chambliss.
Sit down!

Obama’s Loaded In A Buyer’s Market
ROBERT D Kaplan realises that Barack Obama can only profit from the bottom-out market:
…the real reason that Obama and Clinton might enjoy success is something that goes barely mentioned in the media. Obama and Clinton are buying into a bottomed-out market vis-à-vis America’s position in the world. It is as if they will be buying stock after the market has crashed, and just at the point when a number of factors are already set in motion for a recovery. For President George W. Bush did not just damage America’s position in the world, he has also, over the past two years, quietly repositioned himself as a realist in foreign policy, and that, coupled with a bold new strategy in Iraq, known as the “surge,” has poised America for a diplomatic rebound, which the next administration will get the credit for carrying out.

Nicolas Sarkozy Feels A Little Prick
ONE of the more marketable things about Nicolas Sarkozy is that he is pocket sized. And this is good news for voodoo practitioners, who have fashioned a life-size replica of the French President.
One proviso to sale is that the voodoo dolls should carry a label saying they are offensive to him, rules the French judiciary.
How the stuffers of the Petit Sarkozy must rejoice at that, a badge of dishonour from the Beaks should multiply sales.

How Guantanamo Bay Prevents More Mumbai Massacres
THOMAS Joscelyn explains why Barack Obama needs Guantanamo Bay:
The new administration will soon discover from its review of the Guantanamo files what motivated its predecessor: The scope of the terrorist threat was far greater than anyone knew on September 11, 2001….
Have the horrors like those witnessed in Mumbai been prevented by George Bush’s policies? Can flouting due process be for the greater good?

Baby P: Too Late For Ed Balls But Gordon Brown Can Still Save Him
HAVING made a land grab for his ashes, can the Sun take credit for the imminent dismissal of those Haringey social workers who failed Baby P?
Of course it can. And it’s a safe bet that Gordon Brown will not miss the opportunity to thank the Sun for its vigilante campaign, and thank those voters, sorry readers who signed the petition online and in the paper.
As Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel puts it:
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste…”

Bush Wacking: Andrew Sullivan Forgets The Democrats As He Bashes The Bush
HOW many of all the bad things can be blamed on George Bush? Andrew Sullivan talks about the money but forgets the Democrats:
“The debt was so reckless and so immense that it now threatens to destroy the entire financial system. That’s what electing George W Bush twice has done for us. But then we are told that this threat requires us to do even more of the borrowing and spending before we can begin to get ourselves back in balance again. The unchallenged doctrine of the day is that: doing nothing would provoke a worse collapse than necessary and so we have to make our fiscal situation much worse now in order to make it much better later. Why am I not convinced?”
As Johnathan Pearce says:

BARACK Obama Watch: Today Barack is appearing in marketing for Baz Luhrmann‘s new film, Australia. Says Bazza:

Boris Johnson’s Sister Wins Bad Sex Award
BORIS Johnson’s novelist sister Rachel has won the prize for the bad sex writing award. Yeah, he has a sister. She wrote Fashionably Latte, a study of depression in men married to women who read chick lit books:
Johnson was singled out for her novel’s slew of animal metaphors, including comparing her male protagonist’s “light fingers” to “a moth caught inside a lampshade”, and his tongue to “a cat lapping up a dish of cream so as not to miss a single drop”.
No, not him. Ho-ho...
Literary Review deputy editor Tom Fleming was also disturbed by the heroine’s “grab, to put him, now angrily slapping against both our bellies, inside”.
More…. more… oooo…

Nigel Griffiths Packs Them In
NIGEL Griffiths MP (Labour) interjects to steal George Osborne’s thunder:
The Tories just packed the Commons debating chamber to win a vote to force the speaker to allow an emergency debate on the PBR tomorrow – something that Labour were resigned to, but keen to avoid since it has gone down like a plate of cold vomit with the public.
Nigel Griffiths jumped up after the vote on a point of order to the Speaker; “Is it in order for MPs to pile into chamber…” he began before being drowned out with laughter from all sides.
Mr Speaker: I wish they would pile in more often.

Fire At Will: British Police Get Stun Gun Tasers
NEWS on the wires that police officers will be given 10,000 Taser stun guns. They’re regulation issue.
Specially trained officers will be able to use the 50,000-volt weapons when faced with the threat of serious violence, says the Home Office.
Good news, then, for the police. Stick a magnet on the end and when deployed the wires glue the perp’s knife and make him dance like a demented John Sergeant.
But not everyone is happy.

Criminalising Drugs Boost Only The Gigantic Prison Service Industry
CONRAD Black calls for reform on drugs laws:
The US is now a carceral state that imprisons eight to 12 times more people (2.5m) per capita than the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany or Japan. US justice has become a command economy based on the avarice of private prison companies, a gigantic prison service industry and politically influential correctional officers’ unions that agitate for an unlimited increase in the number of prosecutions and the length of sentences.
