Denver Moves To Ban People Carrying Human Waste

THE Democratic National Convention is coming to Denver.

And the local city burghers are worried about demonstrations.

“Someone could literally shutdown the convention if they had the right tools,” says Doug Linkhart, chairman of the City Council’s Safety Committee.

So there’s a proposal to ban anyone from carrying a tool, object, or instrument that “can be used to obstruct roadways, sidewalks, or the entrances of buildings”.

Know that these include “chains, quick setting cement, padlocks, handcuffs and other locking devices”.

We’re simply saying you can’t have those in a protest or on site if we can prove you’re intending to use them,” Linkhart says.

But better than barring people from carrying cement:

The proposed bill would also make it illegal to possess any noxious substance, such as human waste.

How the city will check for signs of protestors carrying human waste is not enlarged upon, but don’t rule out the use of X-Ray machines, catheters and a leafleting drive to ensure everyone’s been before they leave home…

Earth Friend Bush And Al Gore For Cheap Petrol

AL Gore, current US Vice President, leader of the Al Goreans, global warming expert, champion of alternative fuels and educator of the ignorant is pictured here with then President Bill Clinton at the apogee of their political double act.

The numbers indicate the price of petrol, showing that when Gore was in power, petrol was cheap and gas-guzzlers affordable.

Now under oil-mad, planet scorching George Bush, oil is expensive and Americans are walking and selling their big cars, and selling themselves.

Which of Gore and Bush is the planet’s friend?

Note: The picture was meant to show how Bush has been bad for the US economy…

Winds Of Change: Pelosi Gushes For Vice President Al Gore

AL GORE, the guy who lost Florida, is back. Hey, he never went away, at least as far as the New York Times is concered:

After 40 minutes of questions with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Vice President Al Gore’s voice came over the public address system, and he suddenly appeared on stage, as the audience gasped, shrieked and gave him a standing ovation.

The George Bush Sewer

A GROUP in San Francisco want a lasting memorial to George W. Bush. Condoleezza Rice has a ship – or not:

Reagan has his highways. Lincoln has his memorial. Washington has the capital, and a state, too. But President George W. Bush may soon be the sole president to have a memorial named after him that you can contribute to from the bathroom.

Jerry Pournelle On How The World Works

JERRY POURNELLE ON THE WORLD:

The purpose of modern government is to take money from the folks who save and pay their bills and live within their means, and use that to hire government workers; and to keep their power by using the money to buy votes from those who do not save and pay their bills and live within their means. And of course the money comes from those who work and save and pay their bills and live within their means — who else will have any money for the government to take?

Or am I unduly cynical? But you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Lottery winners are not taxed in the UK…

Al Gore Is An American For Prosperity

THE Al Goreans are massed in Washington for a big anti-global warming speech.

Americans for Prosperity are also there – “The grassroots members of AFP advocate for public policies that champion the principles of entrepreneurship and fiscal and regulatory restraint.”

Of course, we saw plenty of hypocrisy—especially the fact that Gore didn’t ride his bike or take public transporation to the event. He didn’t even take his Prius! Instead, he brought a fleet of two Lincoln Town Cars and a Chevy Suburban SUV! Even worse, the driver of the Town Car that eventually whisked away Gore’s wife and daughter left the engine idling and the AC cranking for 20 minutes before they finally left!

Here’s the video:

Banning Knives From TV

THE Sun and Star both feature the same picture of a blonde child holding up a huge meat cleaver.

Is it Gordon Ramsay’s daughter staring in her new yoof cookery show? Not yet.

This is Jenni Woodcock, 17 (Star), who managed to go into a shop and buy a kitchen utensil.

It is illegal for under-18s to buy knives, and the Sun, which – get this – bills Woodcock at 16 (did she show her ID to the papers), is outraged that a minor should get one.

It’s just awful.

Anorak wonders how long it is before knives are banned from appearing on TV and other media lest under-18s get the wrong idea.

Look out for Gordon Brown telling us that from now in we should lick our plates clean…

Note: TV’s Naomi Cleaver is to hereon known as Naomi Chop-Stick

No Believing The Police On Knife Crime

HOW fast can you read? Study if you will the Sun’s headline: “By the time you’ve read this page anther person will be a knife victim.”

Were it not for the associated news that it’s “4 MINS UNTIL NEXT CRIME”, readers may not bother to finish the words and thereby prevent another stabbing.

The story is one of fact piled upon fact:

A Tip On How Hillary Clinton And Barack Obama Got A Bad Deal

PSSST! Want to know how to save money on your political campaign?

The US Presidential race is an expensive affair: Republican agonist John McCain has total receipts of $100.4 million for the whole campaign, less than half of Barack Obama’s total of $266.6 million since January 2007.

Hillary Clinton’s failed campaign to secure the Democrat Party’s nomination cost $212 million.

Big money.

But it could have been all decided for less, much less. No, not by a game of Russian Roulette, rather by aping the New Labour project.

The Deal, Stephen Frears’ “prequel to The Queen” is having its “world theatrical premiere” at an American Cinematheque screening at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on July 23.

Barack Obama Drop A Pearl Harbor Bomb

BARACK Obama is all about change. Here he is changing history:

Throughout our history, Americas confronted constantly evolving danger, from the oppression of an empire, to the lawlessness of the frontier, from the bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor, to the threat of nuclear annihilation. Americans have adapted to the threats posed by an ever-changing world.

Another phrasing problem, no doubt…

Gordon Brown On Knives

CAN Gordon Brown slash knife crime?

Carrying a knife is totally unacceptable says Brown on the Sun’s cover.

Indeed, when dining with the worlds great and good, knives are supplied, so too spoons, forks and chopsticks (when in Rome, and all that).

Says Gordon: I recall being knifed at an Islington eatery many moons ago when

Brent Rinehart’s Comic Book Homos

WHO gets offended by cartoons, aside from Barack Obama and Muslim extremists?

Brent Rinehart is an Oklahoma County Commissioner. He is campaigning for reelection.

As reported, he’s been accused of “abusing his office for personal gain”, and is due to go on trial this autumn on felony campaign finance charges.

But it’s not him. If you want to blame somone, blame the homosexuals, liberals and good ol’ boys. (What no Jews? – Ed). Rinehart puts his case in a comic book he’s sending out to voters. he wrote it himself.

You can download it all here.

“It’s more or less a story of my experiences of the last four years of being the county commissioner of District 2,” Rinehart tells The Oklahoman.

What Do Barack Obama And Extremist Muslims Have In Common

A CARTOON. And Barack Obama is upset. Says Russ Limbaugh:

Let me ask you a question. Who is it that gets upset over cartoons? Muslims. (Gasping) Dawn’s in there saying, “He didn’t say that.” Yes, I did, I’ll say it again. (laughing) I just love tweaking these people. Who is it that gets upset over stupid cartoons? Muslims, intolerant Muslims.

David Aaronvitch’s Cuttings

DO they read their own papers?

Splendid cock-up from David Aaronvitch in this morning’s Times. On the question of taking people who carry knives to see stab victims in hospital he said that ‘no one in Government was suggesting any such thing’.

Meanwhile a few pages previously the following transcript from Jacqui Smith on Sky on Sunday is quoted where she is asked, ‘one of those proposals is that people caught carrying knives should be taken to see people in hospital who have been stabbed, or to meet th familes of victimes, is that correct?’. Her response? ‘It is’.

Barack Obama On The Empathy Of Rich Terrorists

SAYS BARACK Obama after 9/11 column in the Hyde Park Herald.

The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion, or ethnicity.

Asks Jim Gegaghty: “Thank you, Sherlock. How many empathetic terrorists has the world seen? While any culture is capable of generating evil, certain cultures seem to generate more suicide bombers than others. You just don’t find many Amish wearing explosive vests.”

Why China Backs Mugabe’s Zimbabwe: Money

CHINA supports the Mugabe regime in Zimabawe. Why? Why:

In a series of barely reported developments over the years, the Mugabe regime has progressively “nationalised” – i.e., expropriated – these assets, culminating in a deal with China in 2005 when he sold mining rights to China. The foreign exchange earnings made from this deal have kept the regime alive, allowing Mugabe to buy what he needs, and keeping his supporters financed.

China also keeps Mugabe supplied with weapons to underpin his power base – at enormous expense. In June 2004 alone, Zimbabwe purchased from China 12 FC-1 fighters and 100 military vehicles worth an estimated $240 million. The order actually went above and beyond the $136 million defence budget.
The huge wealth from mining revenues, directed straight into Mugabe’s coffers, the amount of financial leverage that the UK – with or without the EU – can exert is minuscule. In fact, EU aid between 2002 and 2007 was worth €107.5 million and in 2008, the “assistance” is expected to be around €25 million.

This compares with the recent increase in platinum production, from 90,000 ounces per year to 160,000 ounces annually. Additionally, through a parallel deal with the Chinese, nickel production has increased from 1,540 tons to 2,900 tons annually. As a result, reported in May of this year, mineral exports, with the exception of gold, for the first four months of the current year stood at $302 million.

And Gordon Brown condemns it all in the strongest possible terms. No chance…

LibDems Want Subsidised Flooding Risk

RISK:

Liberal Democrats : Flood insurance must cover those at most risk – Webb

Commenting on the announcement that insurers have agreed to cover households with a flood risk of up to one-in-75 years, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Steve Webb said:

“It is all very well making insurance available, but it must be affordable to people living in the most vulnerable homes.

And how is that going to work? What he actually means is that he wants people to pay less than the risk demands, do you think the insurance companies are going to subsidize the bad risks?

No. And, er, no…
