Australian PM issues zombie warning

AUSTRALIA’S prime minister, Julia Gillard, has announced the apocalypse in a video posted on YouTube. No, this isn’t someone impersonating her. This is a real world leader, telling us that zombies are on the way.

Of course, she’s not serious because zombies don’t exist. However, it is really good and is going viral as we speak.

Hurrah for Kelvin MacKenzie the Southern Party ponce unafraid to be recognised as a tabloid hero

KELVIN MacKenzie is a one-man circus. The Sun should bring back its former editor. He know how to rile and get a noticed. Kelvin saus he want to create “The Southern Party”. It will stand up for the “overtaxed and over-burdened” Southerners. He advocates Home Rule for England’s South:

As a standalone entity, the people of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and London are 18th in the global GDP league, just ahead of Indonesia and just behind Turkey. If you took this region out of the UK economy, it would be called Ethiopia.

Sarah Champion takes Rotherham for Labour: tired parents lose

THE new MP for Rotherham is Sarah Champion. The Labour Party has held the seat. UKIP came second. As we know a vote for UKIP in the Labour controlled town is a vote for an extended holiday from your children. Many tried to force the break. But, alas, the plot failed. So. Champion replaces disgraced Denis MacShane (he fiddled his expenses) as the Labour leader.

David Cameron donates signed photo to Yorkshire dementia raffle

PUNTERS entering a raffle at Yorkshire’s Tea Cosy dementia cafe can win a signed photo of David Cameron. Use Dave as a plate, resting your toffee bun on his toffee nose. Stick Dave’s face onto a dog’s chew toy and hear him squeak and squeak as the pressure gets cranked up and his voice rises like a boy soprano having his fingers repeatedly slammed by a wooden desk lid.

Self-serving police say Rochdale MP Cyril Smith was a predatory paedophile – maybe

DID former Labour councillor and Liberal MP for Rochdale Cyril Smith abuse underage males? Well, he’s dead. We can’t ask him. The police did ask but have – ahem – lost the files. Manchester police says there is “overwhelming evidence” Smith is guilty of sexually abusing boys in care homes. So. Why didn’t they charge him? Why did Smith, secretary of the Rochdale Hostel for Boys Association, get away with it?

Why didn’t the Crown Prosecution Service prosecute. In 1970, the DPP said “the characters of some of these young men would be likely to render their evidence suspect”.

Nappy sniffing Michael Gove agrees and disagrees with Rotherham council’s UKIP purge

MICHAEL Gove, the nappy sniffing MP for Surrey Heath and Secretary of State for Education says:

“I firmly believe more children should be taken into care more quickly and that too many children are allowed to stay too long with parents whose behaviour is unacceptable. I want social workers to be more assertive” – Michael Gove, 16 November 2012.

“It is entirely wrong for [the Rotherham] couple to have been treated in this way. That’s why I believe we need a full explanation from the local authority as to why this decision was allowed to be taken” – Michael Gove, 24 November 2012

Rotherham council now twinned with Franco’s Spain: the UKIP foster care debacle

ROTHERHAM Metropolitan Borough Council has taken a leaf from General Franco’s book and removed children from “unsuitable” parents. The three children from East European were removed from their home because their foster parents are members of UKIP, the UK Independence Party. Rotherham says UKIP is racist. UKIP says:

UKIP was founded in 1993 to campaign for the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. Not because we hate Europe, or foreigners, or anyone at all; but because it is undemocratic, expensive, bossy – and we still haven’t been asked whether we want to be in it. But the EU is only the biggest symptom of the real problem – the theft of our democracy by a powerful, remote political ‘elite’ which has forgotten that it’s here to serve the people.

It’s not the affiliation that matters to Rotherham’s child snatchers, it’s any political affiliation. Rotherham Council is a composite blend of 63 people, of which only 4 are not affiliated to the Labour Party: three Tories and one Independent. Diverse it ain’t.

The George Bush ‘fake’ Turkey story rides again

EVERY Thanksgiving Anorak takes a look to see if anyone is still talking about President George Bush feeding a huge plastic turkey to US forces. The turkey was real.

The story began in 2003, when George Bush went from Texas to surprise the US troops serving in Iraq. In Baghdad, Bush gamefully fed the soldiers and posed for the for cameras carrying a big turkey, a real turkey dinner that sits on display in the mess hall. Someone, possibly Mike Allen in the Washington Post, suggested it was a fake. And with that the story ran around the world, used as a sign to show that Bush was wrong ‘un and a faker.

Many have regretted the error, but some, like the Guardian’s Mark Lawson, carry on denying the truth.

Racists hated ”incompetent’ George Bush for being black

IS that racist? US Democrat James Clyburn’s hears accusations that UN Ambassador Susan Rice is incompetent. The National Journal reports:

When asked about Rice on CNN’s Starting Point on Tuesday, Clyburn said that words like “lazy” and “incompetent,” which have been used to describe black members of the administration, including Rice and President Obama himself, are reminiscent of language used to undermine minorities in decades past

“You know, these are code words,” Clyburn said. “We heard them during the campaign. During this recent campaign, we heard Senator Sununu calling our president lazy, incompetent—these kinds of terms that those of us, especially those of us who were grown and raised in the South, we would hear these little words and phrases all of our lives, and we’d get insulted by them.”

Obama speaks in favour of decriminalising marijuana

BACK in 1994, Barack Obama was keen to rethink the failing war on drugs.

During his first term the key member of the Choom Gang did nothing. And then on the day of his re-election to a second and final term – the time when legacies are written – Colorado passed Amendment 64 to legalise marijuana for recreational use.

Can we call Margaret Hodge a tax avoider now?

MARGARET Hodge is the Labour MP who currently chairs the Public Accounts Committee in the Commons. Yes, I know, dreary minutiae only a politics geek could enjoy.

Except, except….it’s Mrs. Hodge who last week was lambasting Google, Amazon and Starbucks for their tax avoidance. Even, at one point, going so far as to say that of course no one thought it was illegal but was it immoral?

The Secret European Union budget deal that isn’t

THE European Union. It’s out to get you. The Daily Express says so. Today the Express yells “SECRET EU PLOT TO STITCH IP BRITAIN.” Macer Hall’s story is that EU officials are “stitching together an ‘alternative’ financial plan that could be agreed with the 26 other member states, leaving the UK isolated”. It’s about the EU’s next €1tn seven-year budget. Britain is the only country calling for a complete EU budget freeze. The long-term budget – 2014-2020 – requires unanimity.

THe “SECRET” the Express exposes was written about on November 15. Reuters reported:

European Union officials are examining legal options to side-step a possible British veto on the bloc’s long-term budget, in a bid to weaken Prime Minister David Cameron’s trump card in the talks, diplomats said.

Michael Gove wants to sniff your kids’ nappies before taking them away

MICHAEL Gove is an idiot. Parents. Be afraid. The State knows best. What could possibly go wrong with Gove’s plans? He says:

“In all too many cases when we decide to leave children in need with their biological parents we are leaving them to endure a life of soiled nappies and scummy baths, chaos and hunger, hopelessness and despair. These children need to be rescued, just as much as the victims of any other natural disaster.”

Think he’s talking about the well off?

During General Francisco Franco era in Spain, babies were removed from the families of undesirables, like left-wingers. The children were given to “ideologically suitable” families. A trade in babies followed. In April 2012, Sister Maria Gomez Valbuena, 80, was in court, accused of stealing a mother’s newborn daughter at a Madrid hospital in 1982. Maria Luisa Torres, says the nun took away her baby girl soon after she gave birth in the Santa Cristina hospital, where Sister Maria worked.

Tom Watson, Simon Danczuk and Rob Wilson all want to be the fake sheikh

GOODBYE Cyril Smith. It’s not over yet, of course. Suspected of having been a nonce in life, the former Labour councillor and Liberal MP for Rochdale, not doing too badly in death. Yet. Unlike Jimmy Savile, Smith is still known as Sir Cyril, the Manchester Evening News using the title to tell readers that the plaque “honouring Sir Cyril Smith” has been removed from Rochdale Town Hall.

Council leader Colin Lambert said he and chief executive Jim Taylor thought it for the best. Says Lambert:

“We make no judgement on the situation with Cyril Smith, but the strength of public feeling is such that we have been alerted to a potential threat to the town hall.”

Lancashire police tossed away Cyril Smith’s sex case notes

SIR Cyril Smith. Was he a paedophile? Lancashire police have made a statement on the former MP for Rochdale, now deceased:

We would encourage anyone who believes they have been a victim of sexual abuse by Mr Smith, or who has any information about possible abuse committed by him, to come forward and report those concerns to Lancashire Constabulary by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quoting log number LC-20121114-0364. We take matters such as this extremely seriously and anyone who does come forward should do so with confidence that they will be treated appropriately and with sensitivity.

While we believe there was an investigation into allegations against Mr Smith in the late 1960s, no records are now held and it cannot be ascertained whether a file was passed to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

These historic allegations date back more than 40 years and to a time when Rochdale was within the Lancashire Constabulary area. We have not received any new allegations at this stage.
