Sarah Palin Learnt About The Blood Libel From The New York Times’s Blacks
SARAH Palin is implicated in the murders of six people and the shooting of 14 more by a nutzoid press reacting to nutzoid Jared Loughner. Obama puts his gun away to take nutzoid praise for rising above the partisan politics.
Palin wasn’t to blame. But she reacts to the barage of criticism by saying:
Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.”
Michael Tomasky writes:
Okay, I guess I have to do this, but I’ll keep it short. I think she probably didn’t fully know what “blood libel” means, historically and culturally.

Where Is Europe’s Mohammed Bouazizi? Tunisia Has A Message For Europe
IN Tunisia Mohammed Bouazizi set himself alight in a protest over unemployment and state control. He is now dead. Thích Quảng Đức did the same in Vietnam. In Tunisia Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, the Tunisian president, says he will nto run for office. After 23 years “serving” the people he will go in 2014. He’s already left. He’s in Malta. He will surely end up in Paris. And in his place is Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi.
The Economist reports that Ali
“…turned Tunisia into a police state known for its efficiency. Occasional worries about authoritarian tendencies in more relaxed North African states such as Morocco were frequently referred to as ‘Ben-Alisation’.”
Things are brutal. A police sniper shoots to kill (warning – this is graphic):
But what next? One Egyptian blogger notes:
Revolutions in Egypt, Iran and Pakistan have had the same emotional reaction from people, as they stared in awe at their proclaimed ’saviors’ whose true face has now been revealed. They were no better than the previous leaders.

Apathy Party Defeats Elvis At Monster Looneys In Saddleworth
ALL eyes on goings on at the Saddleworth by-election at Oldham Civic centre. Labour candidate Debbie Abrahams won.
The key figures: 52% of the electorate did not bother to vote; Ms Abrahams was declared the winner of the contest with a majority of 3,558; together the LibDems and conservatives would have won; the Monster Racing Looney Party still exist but fail to excite a protest vote, polling a disappointing just 145 votes, one more than the English Democrats and over double Bus Pass Elvis (aka Dave) on 67 votes…

Israeli Leader Asks Journalists To Remove Trousers And Bras For Private Party
ANY hacks attending Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s party by invitation were required to undress at the door. No, readers, Silvio Berlusconi was not a special guest. The goons were looking for weapons.
The Israeli Press office oversees the obligatory apology. And Sharine Tadros sums up beautifully:
As female journalists working in this region we constantly find ourselves putting clothes on to please Hamas and taking them off to please the Israelis.

Michael Gove’s Oboe Playing: Fingers On Lips, Class
MICHAEL Gove says it’s OK for music teacher to touch pupils. His advice forms part of the Education Secretary’s Keeping Children safe in Music Drive. He says:
“Whether it’s adjusting the position of a violin or demonstrating how to handle drumsticks, showing how a trombone slide should work or introducing new subtleties in oboe playing, teachers should be trusted to touch children without feeling they are somehow transgressing the rules.”

Obama Opens His Eyes With Gabrielle Giffords
JOE Klein looks at Obama’s speech on the Gabrielle Giffords shooting:
He spoke as a son–I couldn’t help but think of his personal regret over not being by his mother’s side when she passed as he said, “Did we spend enough time with an aging parent, we wonder.” You could see the devastation insinuate itself onto, and then be quietly willed away from, his face. He spoke as a brother to his fellow public servants, killed and wounded in the events–an eager brother bringing the glad tidings the Gabrielle Giffords had opened her eyes. He repeated it, joyously, three times. But most of all, he spoke as a father–rising to a glorious peak describing the departed 9-year-old, Christine Taylor Green, a girl near the age of his daughters, whose own deaths, perhaps in the line of fire, he had so clearly been thinking about. And he spoke, more broadly, as the head of our national family, comforting, uplifting, scolding a little, nudging us toward our better angels.

Julian Fellowes Takes His Seat: Lord Downton Abbey Is Here To Help
JULIAN Fellowes has taken his seat in the House of Lords. He’s a Conservative peer, dontchaknow. Fellowes created Downton Abbey, the TV hit of 2010. It worked because while the BBC produces costume drama for people who like to know a bit about history but can’t be arsed to read a book, ITV broadcasts a show for people who don’t give a toss about books but like the films.
Fellowes is now a Lord. And you get the impression he cares very much for the title. As she said of people who potted mistakes in his show, such a TV aerials honing into view and uses of words like “boyfriend” and “iPod” (only one of those has been made up):
“The real problem is with people who are insecure socially. They think to show how smart they are by picking holes in the programme to promote their own poshness and to show that their knowledge is greater.”

Gabrielle Giffords: Keith Olbermann Forgets To Blame The Democrats And Jared Lee Loughner
GABRIELLE Giffords: Sarah Palin is still being singled out for her apparent part in the death of six people and the shooting of 14 more, among them Gabrielle Giffords. Jared Lee Loughner is barely getting a look in.
TV shock jock Keith Olberman is gung-ho for Palin and her crosshairs. But he forgets to note Obama’s Chicago-style politics and this page of the Democratic Leadership Committee website (dated 2004 during the Bush years), for using bullseye targets on Republican seats. (Via.)

Jared Lee Loughner: Sarah Palin Must Die
GABRIELLE Giffords: In the rush to blame Sarah Palin’s crosshairs and rhetoric for Jared Lee Loughner’s murderous spree in Arizona, the media has overlooked one thing: the killer hated Gifford before Palin had ever become a force in US politics.
Palin is the woman of whom Erik Sean Nelson wrote in the Huff Post:
She said that the “world needs more Trigs, not fewer.” That’s a presidential campaign promise we can all get behind. She will be the first politician to actually try to increase the population of retarded people –
Sarah Plain is a “M.I.L.P” – Mother I’d Like to Punch.
How they hate Sarah Palin.
This letter is what police found in the killer’s home. Loughner had met Giffords at the 2007 “Congress on Your Corner” gig:
Writers like Andrew Sullivan have little time to mention Obama’s call for guns and the violent rhetoric of the left, when raping a teenager is a joke.

Barack Obama Inspired Jared Loughner To Shoot Gabrielle Giffords Chicago Style
WANT to know why nihilistic lunatic Jared Lee Loughner shot 20 people, killing six? Want to know why he shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and murdered a nine-year-old girl called Christina Green? Sarah Plain inspired him, right? Those crosshairs and her command: “Don’t retreat, instead- RELOAD!” They did it?
Well, so says one partisan argument. The other one says Barack Obama and his language of violence did it. Back in 2008, Obama told the Republicans:
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”

Proof That Asian Sex Gangs Do Not Target White Girls: Jack Straw Is Wrong
JACK Straw says Pakistani men are “fizzing and popping with testosterone”. Fizzy pop? It’s an odd analogy to use when talking about Asian men raping underage girls. These Pakistani men might like to stay at home and shake their bottles like white, Chinese, Jewish, Hindu, Jedi, black – but not Catholic – boys.
Straw added that Pakistani men see white girls as “easy meat”. And a thousand Pakistani teenaged male (all enforced vegans) sigh.
Mr Straw also said the young men are targeting white girls because Pakistani-heritage girls are “off limits“. Or maybe Pakistani heritage girls are already being abused at home? Or maybe the Asian girls all wear burkas and any sex attacker runs the risk of committing incest, which an aide of Mr Straw stresses is frowned upon in Islam. Or maybe a lot of the victims come from broken homes and are trapped in the care system whereas Asian families are solid units that look after one another? Or maybe men just hate women.
Straw made his comments in light of the jailing of Abid Mohammed Saddique, 27, and Mohammed Romaan Liaqat, 28. They were jailed for a minimum of 11 years at and eight years, respectively. Both paedophile rapists groomed underage girls for sex. Both are men.
As we reported:
In all 27 girls have come forward. Fifteen of them have resulted in a conviction. Two of the girls were black and three Asian – the rest were white.

Sarah Palin Inspired Jared Loughner To Shoot Gabrielle Giffords? Photos And Video
JARED Lee Loughner has murderd six and shot 12 more people with a Glock 9mm pistol at a Safeway grocery story in Tuscon, Arizona. It’s his home town. Among the dead are Federal judge John Roll and a nine-year-child. Among the injured is Arizona’s first Jewish member of Congress, a woman named Gabrielle Giffords. She’s a 40-year-old pro-abortion Democrat and gun supporter. Loughner walked up and shot her in the head. So. Why did he do it?
Sarah Palin once aimed her sights at Gifford. She would be Palin’s kill of the day. Gifford was in Sarah Plain’s crosshair as one of the legislators who had voted for Obama’s health care bill.
Palin introduced a map to her Twitter followers with the charming line:
“Don’t retreat, instead- RELOAD!”
Palin was not alone in mixing guns with politics. An Iraq war vet called Jesse Kelly stood against Gifford as the 2010 Republican nominee for Arizona’s 8th congressional district:
He seems to be embracing his fellow tea partier’s idea. Kelly’s campaign event website has a stern-looking photo of the former Marine in military garb holding his weapon. It includes the headline: “Get on Target for Victory in November. Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office. Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly.”
Palin and her acolytes never made Loughner do it. He has mind of his own.
Loughner has page on YouTube.
I attended school: Thornydale elementary,Tortolita Middle School, Mountain View Highschool, Northwest Aztec Middle College, and Pima Community College.
He says his favouite film is:
(*My idiom: I could coin the moment!*)
His favourite books:
I had favorite books: Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Wizard Of OZ, Aesop Fables, The Odyssey, Alice Adventures Into Wonderland, Fahrenheit 451, Peter Pan, To Kill A Mockingbird, We The Living, Phantom Toll Booth, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Pulp,Through The Looking Glass, The Communist Manifesto, Siddhartha, The Old Man And The Sea, Gulliver’s Travels, Mein Kampf, The Republic, and Meno.
Here he is (and maybe Obama inspired him to do it):
A old classmate of his – Catie Parker – says Loughner used to be pot head (cue a heated debate on the drugs issue):

HSBC-3 Protest Was A Rebellion Against State Control
MARK Pearson and Patrick Reay are outside Newcastle Magistrates Court. They are part of the trio called HSBC-3. On December 18, the two men staged a sat-in at the HSBC branch in Grey Street as part of the protest against a hike in tuition fees.
But wasn’t it really a protest against state control? And if it was, our sympathies are with them. Would the men’s actions become an issue if the police did not arrive to stamp their authority?

Daily Mail Says Elizabeth Edwards Was Bitter And Twisted When She Died: John Edwards Might Weep
ELIZABETH Edwards has died. Her widow, John Edwards – a man who might have been President of the US; a man whose affair was exposed by the National Enquirer (he had a baby by Democratic campaign aide Rielle Hunter) – is the target of a negative Daily Mail piece.
She has left her worldly goods to her children: Cate, 28, Emma Claire, 12 and 10-year-old Jack.
The Mail interprets this as:
Elizabeth Edwards’s revenge from beyond the grave after she cut cheating husband John out of will days before death
Nice headline, eh. Making out a woman was bitter and vengeful as she died. Making out a woman wanted to punish their children’s dad after her death. Nice work, Daily Mail Reporter.

Salman Taseer Was Murdered For A Black Law: Namoos-e-Risalat Is State-Sponsored Racism
SALMAN Taseer, governor of Pakistan’s Punjab province, was murdered in Pakistan. His killer was wearing the uniform of the police. His killer fired 27 bullets into Mr Taseer. His killer is Constable Mumtaz Qadri. He is 26. To many he is a hero. So far 36 policemen have been arrested.
After the murder, Qadri uttered:
“He got the death sentence for insulting the Prophet.”
Mr Taseer had spoken out in support of Asia Bibi. She’s the Christian woman who served water to Muslim women. (More on her here.) They refused to drink water touched by an infidel. A row ensued. A local leader sentenced Babi to death for, allegedly, insulting the Prophet.

Israel Uses Eco-Friendly Bombers To Attack Saudi Arabia
IF the Jew Jaws sharks released into the Red Sea don’t do for the Arabs, then the vultures might. Saudi Arabia has arrested a vulture on suspicion that it is a Mossad spy working for the Israelis.
The vulture is sporting a transmitter on which is stamped “Tel Aviv University”. Israeli daily Ma’ariv reports on the Saudi Al-Weeam newspaper that the matter seemed to be a “Zionist plot”. The Jews say the tag is to track migration patterns.

Dani Filth Is Suffolk’s Leading Culture Icon: Council Says Local Don’t Count
CRADLE of Filth is now and for ever the sound and icon of Suffolk. Locals voted for Dani Filth in a Choose Suffolk poll to discover the county’s greatest icon. Filth beat Ipswich’s Broomhill swimming poll into second place.
But – what’s this? – the local council has ordered a new vote. And Dani Filth is conspicuous by his absence. The 20 images are dull – dull-as-Suffolk. One image is of a row of beach huts. Another is of a ball of hay. Another is for a wind turbine. So rubbish does the council make Suffolk appear that the page is “inspired by London 2012”. (London is not in Suffolk.)

Pete Postlethwaite Damned By John Prescott’s Stupid Mine
PETE Postlethwaite has died. The press laud the man. And John Prescott manages, as ever, to speak in tongues and deliver an argument that has holes bigger than the ones on his face:
I first saw Brassed Off – the tale about the troubles faced by a colliery brass band, following the closure of their pit – in June 1997. The story, loosely based on the Grimethorpe Colliery Band was moving but it was Pete Postlethwaite’s speech right at the end that had a deep effect on me…
The line that got me was: “This government has systematically destroyed an entire industry – our industry. And not just our industry – our communities, our homes, our lives. All in the name of ‘progress’. And for a few lousy bob.”
You can watch it here. I defy you not to cry.

Why Did 13,200 People Sign Up For Manchester’s ID Card White Elephant?
THOSE ID cards trialled in Manchester have been a…failure.
Back in May 2009, then Home Secretary Jacqui Smith (yes, that really did happen) trilled:
“While private companies will clearly benefit from the increased footfall from offering this service, their customers will benefit from being able to quickly provide their biometrics while they are out doing the shopping.”
Well, in all 13,200 people signed up to the scheme. It cost £292m. All the cards have now been cancelled.
