Alexis Wright photos: Maine’s Zumba dance studio sex siren
PHOTOS of Alexis Wright, 29, the keep-fit instructor accused of running a prostitution racket from her Zumba dance studio – the Pura Vida – in Kennebunkport, Maine, home to, among other things, the Bush family summer compound. It is alleged that she taped the sessions. In puritanical New England this is big news. Zumba. Yikes. Filthy stuff:

In photos: The Greek Army played Über Alles as Angela Merkel landed in Athens
IN 5 years the Greek economy has shrunk 23%. Some Greeks believe the country is in the thrall of Germany. So. When German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Athens today, demonstrators shouted slogans, dressed as German World War II soldiers with Nazi swastika armbands, called her a Nazi, compared her to Hitler, and as Merkel’s private plane landed at Eleftherios Venizelos airport the Greek military band struck up that German national anthem (“Germany, Germany above everything”). The past is never far away…

A protestor holds a banner with the picture of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel that reads "wanted" and "war compensations" during a protest in Athens on Tuesday Oct. 9, 2012. German Chancellor Angela Merkel makes her first visit to Greece since the eurozone crisis began here three years ago. Her five-hour stop is seen by the government as a historic boost for the country's future in Europe's shared currency, but by protesters as a harbinger of more austerity and hardship. More than 7,000 police will be on hand, cordoning off parks and other sections of central Athens, to keep demonstrators away from the German leader who is due to arrive today in the Greek capital for talks with conservative Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. . Stupid Matthew Wood sentenced by stupid court for stupid April Jones joke
MATTHEW Wood has appeared at Chorley Magistrates’ Court. He wrote something on Facebook about April Jones and Madeleine McCann that social media narks and police didn’t like. A “vigilante mob” of censorious troll-hunters arrived at Mr Wood’s home. Wood was arrested.
Matthew Wood is a dickhead. But to make him a criminal is wrong. In court, he admitted making wrongheaded comments that caused offence. (What couldn’t offend someone?). He says he was inspired to say something horrible by Sickipedia – a website that “trades in sick jokes”.
Martina Jay, prosecuting, told the court:
“When interviewed by police he fully admitted he posted messages about the two missing children. He started this idea when he was at a friend’s house when drinking, saw a joke on Sickipedia and changed it slightly. He said he did it in a bid to make people think his account had been hacked. He said it got out of hand and he was drunk while doing it.”

April Jones: Matthew Wood arrested
A SECOND arrest has been made in the April Jones murder investigation. Matthew Wood, 20, of Eaves Lane, Chorley, has been arrested. No, not for the child’s apparent murder or kidnap. Wood has been arrested for something he wrote on Facebook.
The Lancashire Evening Post tells us the news but not the key details. It has been censured. They can see it. We cannot.
Wood will appeal before The Beak on Chorley on Monday morning.
A Lancashire Police spokesman explins:
“An arrest was made at an address in Brinscall on Saturday and we can confirm we have charged Matthew Wood with breaching Section 27 of the Communications Act, namely sending a public electronic communication which is grossly offensive. He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Chorley Magistrates Court on Monday.”

April Jones: service for a missing body
APRIL Jones: The five-year-old from Machynlleth has not been found.
Mark Bridger, 46, was charged on Saturday with the child’s abduction and murder, and of perverting the course of justice.
Iwan Jenkins, the district crown prosecutor from the Crown Prosecution Service in Wales, said:
“I now have to advise that, having carried out a detailed review of the evidence gathered so far by Dyfed-Powys Police, my conclusion is that there is sufficient evidence to charge Mark Bridger with the murder of April Jones, and that it is in the public interest to do so. I have also concluded that there is sufficient evidence to charge the defendant with attempting to pervert the course of justice and child abduction.”

Abu Hamza extradited to US – bring on the girls (photos)
HONK if you hate Abu Hamza. Outside the Royal Courts of Justice, Islamists don’t want Abu Hamza and four other terror suspects to be sent to America. But the law does. Hamza’s lost. He’s on his way. And once more the UK’s jihadi community is bereft. When Tottenham Taliban Omar Bakri left for Lebanon we wondered who would be the gurning face of militant Islam. Finsbury Park’s Hamza looked the part. And now’s he gone. Is there no-one left to turn their attention from shouting at pigeons in the precinct to rant about guns and God? Also leaving the UK are Babar Ahmad, Syed Ahsan, Khaled Al-Fawwaz and Adel Abdul Bary. Is anyone left? Maybe it’s time let the girls have a go?

SUSAN Lee writes of April Jones in the Liverpool Echo of the people looking for the missing five-year-old:
But while we shake our heads in sorrowful disbelief there is comfort, albeit small, to be drawn from this terrible episode and it is this: there is more good in the world than bad.
Machynlleth has proved it.

The cynical Sun owns the missing and the dead with its wanted posters
THE Sun loves to grandstand when a crime against a woman or a child hits the news cycle. The tabloid that cares slaps its logo above their heads. It wants ownership of the story. To some it is cynical. To others it is something that might help. But there was no signs that the Sun’s patronage does anything to help the missing or the killed. It just looks like the worst kind of free advertising:
