Arsenal Balls: It’s 25 Years Ago Since The Catharsis At Anfield (And I Was There. Were You?)
ON May 26, 1989, Arsenal did it. After years of nothingness but huff and puff and plod and dreariness and disappointment and hope, they won the league. On the last day of the season. With pretty much the last kick of the last game. On a Friday night. In Liverpool. And I was there.
Nothing beats watching your team win against all the odds and then remembering “I was there”.
It’s up for grabs now…!

DID you look at the kit Arsenal and England’s David Seaman wore at Euro ’96 and think ‘I want me one of those’?

Arsenal Balls: On The 19th Annual St. Totteringham’s Day We Recall Who Said Spurs Would Top The Gunners
ON the 19th annual St. Totteringham’s Day – when Arsenal finish above Spurs in the Premier League – Lukas Podolski identified himself as a fan favourite:
Let’s review what the experts said:
Gary Lineker: “I think they’ll probably finish above Arsenal. Well, the interesting thing is that normally clubs… if they sell a huge player, they always say, oh, we’ll spend the money, we’ll put it back in the team but they invariably don’t, whereas at least you can say for Spurs they’ve had a plan and they’ve spent that money – and they’ve spent it actually before they got it really – so I think actually they’ve bought pretty well on the whole.”

Arsenal Balls: Lukas Podolski Instigates A New Kind Of Handshake
ARSENAL’S Lukas Podolski yesterday enacted one of the best pre-game handshakes of the season, greeting referee Jonathan Moss with rare affection.
The pre-match handshake has been mired on controversy. We’ve wondered whether or not Anton Ferdinand would shake John Terry’s hand before or after wiping his nose on his own palm? Would Rio Ferdinand shake Ashley Cole’s hand, or simply hand him a choc-ice? Would Luis Suarez eat the hand of Patrice Evra; would Evra, wise to the possibility of cannibalism, coat it in hot mustard or black boot polish? Would Wayne Bridge be invited to sniff a smirking John Terry’s fingers?
The handshake had become so complex, so political, that we had led calls for the pre-game handshake to go.
But then along comes Poldi to remind us that more handshakes are what are required.

Arsenal Seek New Bobby Charlton: Arsène Wenger Says Injuries May Be Down To Hair Loss Treatments
ARSENAL’S list of injuries is a running sore for Gunners fans. Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey, Abou Diaby, Lucas Podolski, Mesut Özil, Jack Wilshere, Laurent Koscielny and others have endured lengthy lay-offs this season. Who to blame?
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has an idea.
“Some of them [muscle injuries] are down to the medication that the players take that you don’t even know about. Then you realise afterwards that they took this medication but that’s not prudent… If you lose your hair and you’ve taken something to make your hair grow, it might not be good, especially for the rest of your body. Medication always pushes a part of your body and is sometimes detrimental to other parts of your body.
“At the moment, we have not come to any conclusion … every case can be very different and you need to analyse very deeply why things happen. I’m surrounded by people who want to enhance their performances because they have another problem in their life and it’s not always necessarily a good thing to do.”
