Wallaby On Ecstasy Dies On An Irish Dance Floor: What Really Happened?
WHAT happened to the wallaby that was allegedly plied with ecstasy and drink before it took to the dance floor at the Clarion Hotel in Liffey Valley, Ireland, when the DJ spun Skippy the Bush Kangaroo?
It was a 30th birthday party and about 150 guests were there. The wallaby had, reportedly, been hired for the occasion. Rumours are that the wallaby died.
“There is no evidence at this stage of a body, or evidence to suggest it is dead,” says a garda source.
Hotel manager Garret Marrinan has handed CCTV footage of the incident to the police. He says a duty manager became suspicious:
“He actually had to climb up on to the stage to look in, and when he looked in he noticed a box and out of it came what he described as something like a large dog. By the time he got down through the crowd, the animal and the box were gone. We had no idea where it came in or how it got out of the hotel. The whole thing was all a bit upsetting to be honest with you.”

Blackburn Man Charged With Possessing Octopus Porn

Reader Karen points us to:
Wayne Topping faces 24 allegations, including 12 counts of indecent assault on a girl under 16, and two counts of gross indecency on a girl under 16.
Topping, originally from the Johnston Street area, is also charged with 10 offences relating to images of animal pornography, from the lowest level one to the highest level five of seriousness.

Texas Wants To Be Twinned With Chile: Bring On The Tunnel
TEXAS wants to be Chile. Hell, everywhere wants to be Chile, place of miners, miracles and mistresses. Atascosa County, south of San Antonio, in Texas is so desperate to be Chile that it’s adopted the flag of the South American state as its own. It’s featured on election literature sent out in ballot packages.
The flags of Texas and Chile are no dissimilar. The flags both have a single star on a blue background and a read and white stripe.
They both have a big white stripe on top and a big red one on the bottom. They each have a single star in the middle of a blue field.
Will anyone mistake Texas for Chile? And is the tunnel between the two regions big enough for a ten gallons hat?

Man Surfs Wave Of Raw Sewerage In 27 Pipe: Chilean Miners Impressed
DANIEL Collins, 20, usptaged the Chilean miners in their uphill bobsleigh by riding a wave of raw sewage in a 27 inches wide pipe in Missouri.
The sewerage, described as whatever you brush or flush, might have killed Collins, who had climbed down a manhole. He fell when his safety harness broke.
Says Antonio Smith, the firefighter who rescued Collins:
“It was really nasty. Once you pop the cover, the methane gas just comes up to you, kind of stings you a little bit.”
Around a mile and half later, Collins was found. Says Smith:
“We asked him if he could get up, and he kind of stumbled to the ladder. By then his knees were buckling, so we knew he was kind of weak.”
He got hypothermia. The Chilean miners got a heroes welcome…

CD Pirates Busted For Using Own Photos On Covers

These Phuket Vegetarian Festival Photos Are A Pierce Of Heaven
THE Phuket Vegetarian Festival is not the place for meat munchers to sneers at vegetarians, to mock them as limp-wristed, effete, milk-fed softies. Vegetarians like to look tough. Hitler was a vegetarian, of course. So too was Socrates. And Anthea Turner is thought to have dabbled.
To the Chinese shrine of Sapam, then, where a man in piercing his face with a rubber snake. Another has guns shoved into holes in his head where holes should not be. Body piercing will banish evil spirits and bring luck and fortune to one and all. The local dentist, for instance, is delighted, so too the local surgeon, nurse, circus ringmaster, anyone worried about talking and smoking at the same time…

Pretend Cop Arrested Teens In Manchester But Failed To Beat Them Up
ANTHONY Sacks, 20, pretended to be a policeman in order to arrest teenagers and drive them home in his squad car (with blue light on roof).
This is good policing, no? You stop the yoof hanging about the streets and pack them off back to mum with a flea in their ear.
Well, no. Sacks has been arrested and sectioned under the Mental Health Act at Manchester crown court.
We learnt that Sacks apprehended a 14-year-old boy on Hyde Road, Gorton, and took him home after finding tobacco in his pockets. The lad was handcuffed.
Sacks then did ‘interrogate’ the boy’s mum for over an hour about him smoking and being out late.
A 16-year-old was later handcuffed and told:
“Get out of the area or I will ring armed response.”
Yep. This sounds like good old fashioned policing, and cheap, too.

Kent Police Fail To Spot Dead Man Had Been Murdered By Knife Sticking From His Back
KENT police did not notice that Antoine Denis, 66, had been murdered. They did not see the knife sticking out of his back. That is not their department.
Mr Denis’s body was found in the bedroom of his flat in Chatham, Kent, in January 2010. The police’s brains’ trust concluded that the lifeless body was dead. They called the undertakers – and they noticed the 4.7in) knife stuck in the dead man’s back.
The local coroner Roger Sykes tells the inquest in Maidstone, Kent:
“My understanding is that in the process of the undertaker’s preparation it was discovered there was some blood and indeed a knife and at that stage investigating officers attended.”
Det Con Linda Robb explains the police’s position:
“That is true. I think because of the flat being in darkness and him lying on his back there was no outward sign of anything untoward.”
Which is why the police have torches…

Quality Street: Tin Comes With Free Bullets
IN Clifton it’s so tough that the Quality Street comes with a free shotgun cartridge.
Kay Davis, 53, of Clifton, took her free ammunition when she bought a tin of the chocolate treats from Asda in West Bridgford.
Says she, with no little drama:
“I had to go outside and take a deep breath so I would be able to decide what to do.”
Well, unwrap it and give it a whirl. There is a Quality Street for everyone, and though you might not like the taste of cardboard and gun metal someone else might. Hats off to Nestlé for taking the risk and reaching out to the youth market.
Davis didn’t eat it but instead showed it to a company rep:
“He couldn’t believe it. He was absolutely gob-smacked something like this could have happened. We don’t know where along the line it was put in. I did notice though, the end bit of the seal was blue, and apparently, at Quality Street, it’s normally white.”
Are we to suppose that Asda is flogging hooky tins of Quality Street, some packed by gangsters? If so, look out for the Crack Creams and know that the golden penny is actually the dislodged head of an Argos sovereign ring used in a Clapham mugging in 2007.

Oakland Police You Legends: Cops Kill Pet Labrador As Suspected Burglar
FACEBOOK Legends of The Day are Oakland police in the US who when responding to an alarm at Mary Kate Hallock’s home spotted her pet dog and shot it three times with a 40-caliber Glock handgun.
The police are not without a sense of civic duty. They left a note:
“Oakland police responded to your residence to investigate a burglar alarm. While circling the rear perimeter, lab advanced on officers in a threatening manner before being shot and killed.”
Lab was an 11-year old dog called Gloria. Police say the dog growled at them.
Says police spokesman Jeff Thomason:
“We never want to go into a situation where we hurt a family pet, but in the course of doing our job, sometimes we have to make split-second decisions.”
Yeah. They claim to have thought about it…

There’s A Nazi U-Boat On The Leeds-Liverpool Canal (In Photos)
ON the Leeds-Liverpool canal in Botonay Bar, near Chorley, Lancashire, a man has turned his narrowboat a German U-Boat, number U-8047.
Das Boot has a turret and a periscope, video monitors, sonar, a torpedo bay and is painted in ‘stealth’ matt grey.
Says the owner:
“Some people will spend £250,000 on a boat or a yacht and just sit in a marina all weekend having a gin and tonic on deck…
“I bought a lot of the equipment from Bob’s Bits, who supply hi-tech, futuristic set props.
“They have produced equipment used on Doctor Who, the Star Wars films, Tomb Raider and the last two Bond films. Some of the panels in here were used on episodes of Torchwood.”
