Japan’s Oldest Woman Is Missing: Killer Sushi Suspected
JAPAN’S oldest women, 113-year-old Fusa Furuya is missing. How long before we can presume she is dead, we are uncertain. But given the scam in Japan for passing dead relatives off as living so as to claim their pensions, we guess she will remain missing until all her dependents are dead.
The story goes that when updating their records, officials discovered that Furuya was not living at the address where she is registered. She has not been found.
This follows the news that Tokyo’s oldest male, Sogen Kato, a man of some 111 years had been dead for 30 years.

Sogen Kato Is Japan’s Oldest Fraudster At 111
SOGEN Kato, Japan’s oldest living man, has been found in his bed. He is dead. Mr Kato has been there for some time. Dressed in his underwear and pyjamas, Kato’s body is mummified.
Mr Kato’s granddaughter tells investigators, who had barged into his room after attempts to reach and congratulate him on reaching 111 not out failed, that he had been in the room for 30 years. He wanted to be a living Buddha. He wanted to be left alone.

Britain Is The Best Place To Die In The World: Official
ACCORDING to the 2010 Quality of Death Index, created by Economist Intelligence Unit, Great Britain is the best country to die in. Of 40 countries polled, it is GB that offers the best quality of care offered to dying patients.
Of course, polling dead people for their views is no easy thing – which is why GB also tops the list in league table of market research mediums.

Man Eaten To Death By Maggots In His Bed
IN, Vienna, Austria a man has been eaten alive by maggots in his bed. The 61-year-old slept by his 34-year-old wife.
The man, paralysed for several years following a stroke, had, as police say, not wanted to be washed for a long time.
The maggots had partly devoured his back.

Weston-Super-Mare Sand Sculpture Festival In Pictures
TO the Weston-super-Mare Sand Sculpture Festival on the beach, which this year has the theme and celebration of all things British. Baldrick Buckle, aged 38, originally from Leeds but now lives in the Netherlands, works on his sculpture of Little Britain characters Lou and Andy. There’s a William Shakespear, the cast of Monty Python cast from the film the Holy Grail, The Beatles, the Queen and the campest James Bond you ever did see. The two teen girls and a teen boy lying in wet skinny jeans by a pile of alcopops are not made of sand but form parts of a living installation called Seaside Sickness which also features a Ferris Wheel in the rain, a dog on a piece of rope and a half-eaten piece of fried chicken in a discarded box…

Oscar’s Face Transplant In Pictures
AT the Vall d’Hebron in Madrid, the man known to the media only as Oscar, 31, shows the result of his full face transplant. It took medics 24 hours to remove the donor’s face and place it on Oscar’s head. Oscar needed the treatment after accidentally shooting himself in the face in 2005. He can drink and speak, although not yet that well. He wants to do “little things, like walking down the street without anyone looking at him, or sitting down for a meal with his family. Doing things that all of us do on a normal day.”
(Hollywood plastic surgeons await demand for the next big thing.)

Cricket Fans Fail To Catch Falling Meteor At Sussex
THAT cricket ball flying through the air at the Sussex v Middlesex rubber is a 4.5 billion-year-old meteor. Says fan Richard Haynes:
“We were quietly supping our pints, both looked up at the same time and saw a black object coming towards us.”
A waiter? Catch it!!
But no waiter. And no catch. The five inch meteor hits the turf. Says one Jan Marszel Marzel:
It landed five yards inside the boundary and split into two pieces. One piece bounced up and hit me in the chest and the other ended up against the boundary board. It came across at quite a speed – if it had hit me full on it could have been very interesting.”
Better had you caught it and then tossed it smartly back at the stumps.

” Cllr Sufrana Bashir-Ismail, Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Cleaner, Greener, Safer said: “Whilst it may seem like a minor problem, residents leaving bins out after collection can leave themselves at risk of bin fires which can spread to their property.

Whale Attacks Boat: In Pictures
WANT to see a picture of whale attacking a boat? After the story of the deer that shot the biker, signs are that the animal kingdom is fighting back. The whale has turned.
Says the source:
“We had been taking some pictures and had just decided to head back when a Southern Right whale, between 11 – 14 m (37-45 ft) long, breached about 100 meters (328 ft) away from us. It then suddenly breached about 10 meters (33 ft) from us and then – right on us! We were sailing so had no engine and we could not even take any action. Scary!”

Donkey Parasails Over Russia: Video
TO Southern Russia, where to advertise parasailing, organisers are attaching a donkey to a parachute and dragging him by a boat over the sea.
The message seems to be that if you want to look like an utter ass, go parasailing.

Did A Dead Deer Murder A Biker In Pennsylvania?
IN Pennsylvania, police are investigating the death of 47-year-old William Mark Amos. The scene is this:
Chief Deputy Coroner Paul Cycak says “state troopers saw a dead deer on Route 819 in Salem Township, and a wrecked bike with 47-year-old William Mark Amos underneath it, and they thought the man died from injuries he suffered in a crash Friday morning.”
Mr Amos was not wearing a helmet.
But when they lifted the 1982 Harley Davidson off Amos’ body, they found a gun belonging to Amos — and then discovered a bullet wound in the back of his head.

Man Has Sex With Great Dane Called Christine Brinkley
ARMAND M. Pacher, 64, is in a Miami-Dade jail accused of having sex with dog called Christine Brinkley.
The dog is a Great Dane.
He is charged with animal cruelty. And his crime came to light when he was talking with a vet about the uptown girl:
“She doesn’t seem to enjoy it as much when we have sex. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been as energetic lately and that’s why she’s not enjoying it.”
Says his lawyer a – get his – Mr Weiner:
“I’m quite familiar with the evidence that exists, and I’m really disappointed that Aventura police would make an arrest based on unsupported evidence and conclusions. I expect my client will be full vindicated.”
Old Mr Anorak’s in-house pet, a ferret called Margaret Rutherford, looks sanguine..
