School Bans Freak Dancing And The Maypole
THE Brighton High School dance is forbidden. Officials at the North Carolina institution will not endure students “freaking” on the dance floor.
Freaking means sexually suggestive dancing, in the manner of the Tango, the Frot Trot, the Lambada, the Salsa, most ballets, cheerleading and the disgusting Maypole.
“If you open the door for that, what else comes after?” said Lois Lenaghan, whose grandchild attends the high school. “It’s like opening a can of worms.”

AT the chapel of the Basilica, you can come and see the body of Saint Antonio of Padova. There’s not all that much left of him. The exposition coincides with the liturgical feast of the Translation of St Anthony (also known as the Feast of the Tongue). The devoted come to venerate – and stare…

The 2010 Venice Carnival In Pictures, Death And A Hanging
THE Venice Carnival 2010 featured a slaughtered bull, 12 dead pigs in the Piazza San Marco and local toff Bianca Brandolini being hung from a scaffold. This being Venice, there are also small cups of coffee so expensive bankers asks for discount and Americans wandering why this faux Venice has none of the razzamatazz and all-day buffet at the real deal in Vegas. Still, the masks are better than you see at Halloween or in the more surgical areas of Los Angeles:

Bus Driver Stops London Bus To Chant: Pat Sharp Bombs
ON the No.24 to Hampstead Heath, the driver has pulled up to pray on his dayglo safety vest. The Mail reports:
He took off his shoes, knelt down facing Mecca, and began to chant.
We’d been wondering what Pat Sharp had been up to. Passenger Gayle Griffiths complained to Transport for London. Says she:
“I have done the journey a million times before but I was in a hurry to get home to pick my little girl up from school. We had just picked up and let off people at a bus stop and moved off again when the driver stopped the bus very suddenly.
“He got out of his cab, leaving the engine running, and walked towards the middle exit door. He laid out a fluorescent jacket on the floor and I thought that somebody must have been sick and he was covering it up. I didn’t really think much of it. But then he took off his shoes and began praying. I was gobsmacked and quite bewildered.”

Compo For Jogger Locked In Park’s Toilet On Christmas Eve
SOUTHWARK Council locked a jogger in a public toilet on Christmas Ever. He remained in the lavatory – no heating, save for hand dryer, bin liner clothes and hot water – for 17 hours. CCTV captured his movements.
The story goes that the man had been jogging in Dulwich Park. He nipped to the toilet. The attendant failed to check if there was anyone inside the building before locking the door.
The council will pay the man compensation.
Anorak is just wondering who goes jogging on Christmas Eve and then takes their lives in their hands in a public toilet? We’d say they want locking up – but that would seem unnecessary…

Britney Spears Cross-Dresser In Court For Scaring Children
WHAT news of the Britney Spears cross-dresser, one Peter Trigger? Well, since you ask, Mr Trigger is in court charged with breaching the anti-social behaviour order that bars him from baring his legs in public and wearing a skirt during the school run.
Man Banned From Dressing As Britney Spears Near School Gates
In December 2008, Mr Trigger was spotted about primary schools in Northampton wearing a “Britney Spears-style schoolgirl uniform.”
Parents walking with their children to nearby Woodvale Primary School had claimed Trigger had bent over, shown his bare thighs and indicated he was wearing no underwear.
We thought Mr Trigger a brave man, a lure to paedos, pervert and Spears fans, who would approach the child and then be dealt a severe blow to their self-esteem and mind’s eye. But it seems that not all agree.

Farmer Filder Forced To Demolish His Castle
ROBERT Fidler, of Salfords, Surrey, must demolish his home. Mr Fidler built a castle, with turrets. And a canon. Mr Fidler did not get planning permission.
The home was hidden behind bales of straw and tarpaulin for four years. He believed that after this time, a legal loop hole would allow him to keep his house.
Then a Government inspector said that the removal of the straw bales constituted part of the building works and the four-year immunity rule would not apply. To the High Court, then.
