Shane Oldroyd Jailed For Stealing A Bus And Causing Mayhem: Video
SHANE Oldroyd, 27, of Ossett, is not to be admired. Shane needed to get home. Shane had no money. Shane stole a single-decker Arriva bus from Wakefield bus station.
Shane is up before the Beak at Leeds Crown Court. Judge Kerry Macgill says he is guilty of “wicked, dangerous and reckless” driving.

THEY say that in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg the dogs are bright green and glow in the dark. Says villager Alexei Bukharovsky: “I go past those dogs every day. They are usually reddish … but then I saw, running along the white snow, an almost completely emerald dog. At first I thought someone had been playing a joke.” But then someone said they might have been contaminated by the local water or the local food and with it being Russia everyone believed him. Disabled Driver Given Ticket For Showing Traffic Warden Disabled Badge
NEWS from Wolverhampton’s Express & Star, wherein disabled 71-year-old Alfred Turley is being asked to produce his blue badge at a parking office in West Bromwich in order to have a ticket voided
While he in the office showing his badge, a traffic warden gives his car a ticket for – you’re way ahead of us – not displaying a blue badge in a blue badge zone.
“I couldn’t believe it. They asked me to fetch my badge and when I returned I had a ticket. I didn’t make a fuss to the warden because I just thought they’d cancel it on the spot when I went back inside to tell them what had happened.
“But they said there was nothing they could do and I had to pay it.”

Jesus Shroud Found In Jersusalem’s Field of Blood
WHAT are the odds that researcher from the Hebrew University and institutions various should in the run up to Christmas find pieces of a burial shroud from the time of Jesus in a tomb in Jerusalem?

Olympian Elizabeth Poblete Gives Birth During Weightlifting Session
ANY golfers aiming to be the female Tiger Woods take note: Chilean Olympic weightlifter Elizabeth Poblete, 22, gave birth during a training session. No, it wasn’t to prove how tough she was. Poblete didn’t know she was pregnant.
Ms Poblete gave birth three months early. The baby is in intensive care at a hospital in Sao Paulo. Baby Thrust weighs 2.54lbs and about 14 inches long.

Washington Woman Breaks Law For Noisy Sex, In Pictures
AT Newcastle Crown Court Caroline Cartwright, 48, pleads guilty to three counts of breaching the Asbo banning her from making loud noises – described as sounding like “murder” and “unnatural“.
Earlier, the court had heard from Cartwright’s neighbour Rachel O’Connor, who says was often late for work on account of being kept awake by Caroline and Steve Cartwright’s sex. As she says:
“The noise sounds like they are both in considerable pain. I cannot describe the noise. I have never ever heard anything like it.”
The Asbo banned the couple from “shouting, screaming or vocalisation at such a level as to be a statutory nuisance“.

In Pictures: Barry Rigby Crowned 2009 World Pie Eating Champion
HURRAH for Barry Rigby winner of the World Pie Eating Champion at Harry’s Bar in Wigan. Mr Rigby was crowned at the 2009 champion after taking just 47 seconds to finish the regulation pie – diameter of 12cm and a depth of 3.5cm, a pie wall angle from base to top of between zero and 15 degrees; minimum content cube dimensions of the meat and potato mix are 1cm, and they must have 66% meat content not including pastry. There was controversy in the build up. Competition boss Tony Callaghan said: “Gravy has traditionally been the performance-enhancing drug of choice amongst pie eaters at this level, but since we banned it, contenders have been trying to find other ways of generating lubricative advantage — we’re hearing rumours that cough mixture is the new Bisto.”

Russian Bank Robber Hypnotises Bank Teller
IN Volzhky, Russia, Galina Korzhova is arrested on suspicion of hypnotising a bank clerk into giving her more 30,000 euros, 20,000 US dollars and the rest of the $81,000 in rubles.
She is suspected of having robbed up to 30 additional banks.
The bank teller, who works at Sberbank bank, met Korzhova. She told him she could remove curses and heel the sick. Later he met her again on Communist Street. He gave her the cash.

London Undergound Announcer Tells Passengers To Commit Suicide
A LONDON Underground worker is advising passengers, sorry, customers to shoot themselves. No need to head to Stockwell Tube and hope that the police shoot you. Or wait to be pushed under a train. Just do it yourself. Minimise the risk of failure. Says the voice from above at Farringdon Tube station:

Man Reports Theft Of Drug Collection
IN Holland, a man has complained to the police that his collection of ecstasy pills has been stolen.

The Typography Of The London Underground
THE London Undergound typogrpahy is a joy to star and stare and stare at. Here’s a piece about how the typeface for the London Underground came to be:
“We continue to make subtle changes” Ashworth admits, “but we’re very wary about doing too much and are always happy to roll back changes if they end up not feeling ‘right.’
“The most recent major change was to the numbers 1 and 4 earlier this year. Not a lot of people noticed until a poster appeared advertising engineering work on the 14th of February — then I got A LOT of emails.”

Barack Obama Spotted Over Norway As A Blue Halo Of Light

Poole Kills Christmas Tree, Kills Gaia For Christmas
THE big fake cone tree erected in Poole, Dorset is dead. The Mega Tree did it all – looked green, behaved in a tall fashion, played music and dispensed seven flavour of alcopops. But it’s now dead. The Mega Tree of Poole was too ahead of its time. In its place the burghers of Poole have erected a dead tree, with leaves that shed on the floor and make the place look untidy. Man Accused Of Creating Extreme Pornography With Tiger: Tiger Woods Innocent
DOES the Tiger Woods story encourage thoughts of sex with tiger, or Tigger? At Wrexham Magistrates Court, Andrew Robert Holland, 47, is accused of possessing a pornographic image of a person having sex with a Tiger, sorry, tiger.
The image is said to be “grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character”.
That is not all. Mr Holland is also accused of possessing an extreme pornographic image that could result in serious injury to a person’s genitals. And at once we are back to Tiger Woods’ crazy gold course: Hole 7 – Burning Bright.

The Amazing Life Of Roger Day, Britain’s Greatest Living Soldier
THAT’S Roger Day on the Bedworth Armistice Day Parade with a chest full of medals and on his head an SAS beret.
The Warwickshire Armistice Day parade is lucky to have a man like Day, of Earl Shilton, Leicestershire. On his chest are 14 medals, taking in the Korean war in the 1950s, the Falklands Conflict in the 1980s, the liberation of Kuwait in the 1990s. Mr Day has served man and boy in the Army.

Physiotherapist Tells Patient To Fire A Gun At A Sundial
STEPHEN Sterling, a physiotherapist in Sunderland, has told a patient recovering from a serious head injury to fire an air pistol at a sundial.
Mr Sterling is given a 12-month caution.
Lawyers representing Mr Sterling say that the “unorthodox treatments” were designed to fit the patient’s former lifestyle as an “adrenaline junkie”.
Melinka Berridge, solicitor for the Health Professions Council, says:
“GB [the patient] had suffered massive head injuries as a result of a road accident. Providing a loaded pistol to a man with these difficulties is an inherently dangerous act.”
