Man Driven To Cocaine When Lover Forgets Gravy
TO Bristol Magistrates’ Court, where reformed drug addict Paul Dibble tells The Beak that he turned to crack cocaine because his girlfriend didn’t make any gravy for their Sunday roast dinner.
Old Mr Anorak believes that, if true, this woman should be sent far from this place to Australia or somewhere equally hideous and made to understand the error of her ways. Your editor just wonders if crack can be liquefied and how much an entuire gravy boat of it would cost?

Britain Catches Squirrels Pie Fever
SQUIRREL killer Paul Parker says demand for grey squirrels from “top chefs” means he needs to expand his empire and kill more squirrels.
Parker is a leading light of Red Squirrel Protection Partnership (RSPP), which argues that killing greys is the only way to save Britain’s native reds from extinction.
In the last year and a half he and his team have murdered 22,622 greys.

Family Find Jesus Living In Marmite Jar
JESUS has been in Claire Allen’s marmite. He’s been living in her Marmite jar.
Claire Allen: Waiter
Waiter: Modom
CA: What’s this Jesus doing in my Marmite?
Waiter: Waiting for some toast, modom…
Says Claire Allen’s husband, of Ystrad, Rhondda:
“The kids are still eating it, but we kept the lid… Claire saw it first and called her dad to come and take a photo of it.
“When I first looked at it I wasn’t sure, but when I moved it away from me it started coming out. I thought yeah, she’s right – that’s the image of Jesus.”
Mrs Allen says her 14-year-old son Jamie also has Jesus in his Marmite:
“Straight away Jamie said ‘that looks like God’, and my other boys (Robbie, four, and Tomas, 11) even said they could see a face. People might think I’m nuts, but I like to think it’s Jesus looking out for us.
“We’ve had a tough couple of months; my mum’s been really ill and it’s comforting to think that if he is there, he’s watching over us.”
Not that you can see that much from inside a lid of Marmite, especially when it’s screwed atop a jar of the black stuff…
But hold on a mom! It might not be Jesus… It might be… Oooer! It’s… him!

HOU Guoying, 65, of China, has a pain in her face. She has been complaining of an agonising headache.
Guoying has a bullet embedded near her right jaw and ear, having been accidentally shot with a pistol during the Cultural Revolution in 1967.

Fat Dog Trapped In Rabbit Hole Escapes By Slimming
JAKE the Jack Russell was trapped in an underground rabbit warren in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, for 25 days until he lost so much weight that he was able to crawl out.
Says owner Jill Thomas:
“Jake was out walking with my husband one day when he trotted off and vanished out of sight around the rabbit holes. Rick looked everywhere for him but they were about six miles from home and he had no choice but to return without him.
“We put posters up everywhere and advertised for information about him but we heard nothing. Once three weeks had gone by we gave up hope of ever seeing him again.”

Climate Change Caterpillars Invade Rotterdam
CATERPILLARS have invaded Spui, Rotterdam.
The Ermine moth eats leaves on the trees for six weeks long. There are no leaves left in Spui. Then the larvae cover the trees in “cocoons of silk like giant spider webs and change into a white butterfly with black dots”.

EUGENE Ashley, of Floyd County, Gerogia, has been charged with child cruelty after authorities say he tattooed his 3-year-old son.

Burping Parrot Banned From Restaurant
TIME for a parrot story, and we journey to Langata brasserie and grill, Chessington where Chessington World of Adventures resident Brindsley is at a “meet and greet”.
Brindsley is able to make burping noise, and does so.
The loud burps echoed around the Langata brasserie and grill, leading diners to complain the cheeky parrot was setting a bad example to their children. He has now been banished to the outdoor terrace for the rest of the May half-term holidays, unless his behaviour improves.

THE power of the moustache cannot be underestimated. The moustache can cover a thin lip, underline a noble nose and create a nest for a cold sore.

TO a Wikipedia toilet cubicle in Japan, where a reader is studying Koji Suzuki’s latest, er, slasher book “Drop,” a story on toilet paper. It’s a follow up to his book “Ring”.

Hayden Panettiere Presents The World’s Best Misspelled Tattoos
HOLLYWOOD starlet Hayden Panettiere has the ubquitous tattoo that makes her not only great to watch but an interesting read. Says Panettiere’s skin:
“Vivere senza rimipianti,”
That means – irony of ironies – “to live without regrets” in Italian. Or it would do had she not inserted an extra “i” to make “rimipianti” instead of “rimpianti”.

Iranian Seriel Killer Copied Agatha Christie
TO Northen Iran, where a 32-year-old woman accused of murdering at least six people tells one and all that she was inspired by Agatha Christie.
The woman is said to have targeted middle aged or elderly women at shrines where they were praying.
