Nominative Determinism: Mr Phuc Kieu Arrested For Sex Crimes

School Bans Trip To Nutcracker Baller Over Jesus Tree Fears
The Butler Elementary School field trip to see the ballet is back on. Sorry, kids. The Belmont, Massachusetts, school’s PTA has reversed its decision to cancel The Nutcracker becasue the production featured a Christmas Tree.
PTA Co-President Barbara Bulfoni explains:
“In the past years there were parents complaints as The Nutcracker has a religious content. I think we clarified with the parents.”
So, kids you get to see the show. The alternative trip to see Nativity 3: Hey Dude Where’s My Donkey is off. But you can always go and see that in your free time…

Taco Bell Drive-Through Refuses To Serve Cyclists
TO, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where the Taco Bell Drive Thru waiters have refused to serve man on a bicycle. Gabriel Harris, 33, wants to eat:
Police found Harris on a bicycle by the menu speaker. Aron Tobler, the employee, said he refused service to Harris and Sarah Haliburton because “they placed an order on bicycles” in the drive through window.

Women Slept With Dead Mother For Five Years
To Germany, where for five years a 55-year-old German woman has been sleeping beside her dead mother.
When the daughter wouldn’t open the door, he called the police. They and the fire service were able to get the door open and discovered the body inside in a double bed which the daughter had been sharing.
The daughter later admitted during questioning that her mother had died during March of 2009. She has been sent to a psychiatric institution.
An autopsy produced no evidence of foul play in the mother’s death.
You do kind of wonder if any harm has been done? It’s grim but, then, so is being institutionalised…

Pensioner Collected Hundreds Of ‘Borrowed’ Bicycles In His Apartment
EVEYONE needs a hobby:
A man in his seventies has been arrested after police found more than a hundred bicycles in his apartment in Vadstena in central Sweden. Police in the area say they discovered a hundred and one cycles in the elderly man’s two room apartment, with ten others located in a storage room… “He said he found the bikes at various locations in the country and cycled home with them”…

Cambridge Man Arrested For Threatening Tesco Staff With Picture Of A Gun
TO the Tesco Extra store in Bar Hill, Cambridge:
Officers were called to the giant supermarket after staff told operators in the force control room that a man was threatening to kill them and showing them an image of a firearm. Police were called by staff at 1.30am on November 12.
Draw!
Cambridgeshire police then dispatched officers to the store where they arrested a man on suspicion of making threats to kill.

Seals Filmed Raping And Killing Penguins
IS Nothing Safe? Seals having sex with penguins.
Things are heating up in the cold climes of the sub-Antarctic. On a remote, and mostly desolate island, seals have been caught engaging in an extreme form of sexual behaviour.Specifically, they have been trying to have sex with penguins. More than one fur seal has been caught in the act, on more than one occasion. And it’s all been captured on film, with details being published in the journal Polar Biology.

Devon Man Guilty Of Possessing 9 Pence Worth Of Cannabis
TO North Devon Magistrates’s court, where Christopher Saunders, is answering the charge of being in with possession of nine pence worth of cannabis, roughly 0.09 grams of prohibited drugs.
Tim Hook for the defence, argues:
“If I close one’s eyes and try to imagine nine hundredths of a gram it is a very difficult thing to fasten your mind on. I think it is a quantity that is barely capable of measurement… I am staggeringly surprised it couldn’t have been dealt with by way of a caution at the police station, when so many things are.”
Mr Saunders pleads guilty. He is awarded a conditional discharge.

Groom’s 15-Year-Old Bride Turns Out To Be A Boy
WELL, that his story and he’s sticking to it:
Balak Ram of Biharipur village, Uttar Pradesh, was a bachelor aged 37 and frequently taunted for it. His family had long been hunting for a bride for him. He was renowned for being a little ‘off his rocker’ and no woman agreed to marry him. In their search for a bride, his family sought the help of a man who led a ‘natak mandali’ (dance troupe), Hukkam Singh. Singh agreed to get Balak Ram a bride, at a fee of Rs 50,000 (£520, $810). He said he had found a “beautiful and homely young girl,” in Mathura. Balak Ram’s family travelled 160 km from Badaun to Mathura on November 2, and were pleased to be introduced to 29-year-old Raj Kumari, their daughter-in-law to be. Raj Kumari hailed from Japarpur village in Mathura.
The wedding was solemnized 48 hours after Ram’s family first met Raj Kumari…

Smarties Are A Drug: School Expels Students For Snorting Candy
Smarties are not the answer
SMARTIES are a drug:
At least three middle school children in Clovis, New Mexico, are accused of snorting Smarties on campus. The Clovis Municipal School District suspended the boys for 10 days. In a letter the district classifies Smarties as drugs and explains students can be suspended or even expelled by possessing them.

Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko Sounds Like Inuit Throat Singing: Listen To Rosetta

THE Rosetta spacecraft’s Philae lander has picked up sound on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, upon which it now sits.
The ESA released tbgis audio clip of 67P/C-G singing. MNany sya it sounds a lot like Predator, the bearded Hollywood alien that tried to kill Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Life Imitates Seinfeld: Ne-Yo And Mary Hart’s Voices Can Give You Seizures
“I’LL be walking around the supermarket doing my food shopping and I have to put my earphones in to listen to my own music just in case it comes on,” says Zoe Fennessy, 26, of Nottinghamshire. Every time she hears singer Ne-Yo’s voice she suffers an epileptic seizure.
“It’s the same with most shops. I have to walk in with my ear phones in at first just to make sure they don’t have Ne-Yo on. If he ever releases a greatest hits album it’s going to be a nightmare. Whenever I hear the first few beats of the song I have to drop whatever I am doing and run. People might think it is funny – and I can laugh at it myself – but it has taken over my life. It’s ruined my life.”
Zoe…had her first seizure on New Year’s Day in 2006 after a long period of sickness and doctors put it down to tiredness and stress. But when her seizures increased to six a DAY her GP booked her in for a brain test and doctors diagnosed her with epilepsy in 2008. But it wasn’t until she heard Ne-Yo’s ‘Give Me Everything’ featuring Pitbull – which topped the charts in May 2011 – that she had her first music-induced seizure.

Photos Of Unusual Brains Left Behind In A Mental Hospital
WHEN patients at the University of Texas Mental Hospital died, their brains were removed.
In the 960s, they were stuffed into jars and stored. And forgotten.
Photographer Adam Voorhes and journalist Alex Hannaford recorded the organs drenched in formaldehyde for his book Malformed: Forgotten Brains of the Texas State Mental Hospital.

Hospital Employees Get Stuck In An MRI Scanner After Oxygen Cylinder Mishap
“THIS is really an unfortunate incident,” says Plastic surgeon Dr Vinay Jacob. “Thankfully, we were able to successfully rescue both our staff members and provide them timely treatment. We have already launched an internal inquiry to ascertain what went wrong.”
