Spiders make spider art and statues in Peru
TO Peru, to meet the spider that forms twigs and dead insects into spiders:
Afterward, Torres returned to the trails near the research center. Only within a roughly 1-square-mile area near the floodplain did Torres find more spider-building spiders — about 25 of them. “They could be quite locally restricted,” he said. “But for all I know, there’s millions of them in the forest beyond.” The spiders’ webs were crafted around face-height, near the trail, and about the width of a stretched-out hand. Some of the decoys placed in the webs looked rather realistic. Others resembled something more like a cartoon octopus.

Tiny horses would rather catch the tube than walk
HUMANS are brilliant because they’ve worked out ways of not doing things in increasingly elaborate manners. Want to get somewhere? Make a machine take you. Stupid animals do all that walking while we are flung around in metal contraptions, feet up, listening to music and reading books.
We even poo inside.

End of the World fans mass at Serbia’s Pyramid-shaped Mount Rtanj
THE End of the world is nigh! On December 21 the world ends! The Telegraph has news:
Hotel owners around the pyramid-shaped Mount Rtanj, in the east of [Serbia], say that bookings are flooding in, with believers in the [Mayan Calendar]prophecy hoping that its purported mysterious powers will save them from the apocalypse.
