Witches used ‘flying ointment’ on a broomstick ‘dildo’

THE Botany of Desire: A Plant’s-Eye View of the World by Michael Pollan:

“Witches and sorcerers cultivated plants with the power to “cast spells” — in our vocabulary, “psychoactive” plants. Their potion recipes called for such things as datura, opium poppies, belladona, hashish, fly-agaric mushrooms (Amanita muscaria), and the skin of toads (which can contain DMT, a powerful hallucinogen). These ingredients would be combined in a hempseed-oil-based “flying ointment” that the witches would then administer vaginally using a special dildo. This was the “broomstick” by which these women were said to travel. (119)”

Q. Why did witches ride broomsticks? A. To get high…

Teacher fined for selling home-made soap to pre-teen students

STUDENTS buying a bar of home-made soap from teacher Marlon Scanterbury were given “no homework” passes. They could also rack up points towards prizes.

The Brooklyn, New York, teacher’s sideline earned him $24 for six bars sold. It cost him $4,000 in fines levied by the city’s Conflicts of Interest Board.

The NY Post’s story omits to mention how Mr Scanterbury made his loss-making soap. You need some kind of fat, either vegetable or animal. How did the man make his soap? Why did he make soap and not, say, key ring fobs? And why sell soap to 11 and 12-year-olds?

Inflatable doll dies in police chase

THERE are no self-service check outs at Christie’s ToyBox, Stillwater, Oklahoma. You need to pay the cashier. You need to show your face. This may have contributed to the decision of 27-year-old Jessie Allen Smith to rob the store of porn mags and a $300 inflatable sex doll.

Before his caper, Smith had bought a stringy wig at a local Walmart. This would be his disguise.

Says store manager Candace Gray:

“As soon as my clerk rings up one magazine, the guy runs behind the counter and puts my clerk’s head down towards the counter and basically leans over and puts the knife to his throat and threatens to stab him to death. He grabs the doll, magazines and money and runs out.”

This man has a condition called cutis verticis gyrata

THIS man has a condition called cutis verticis gyrata. NBC News says:

In this week’s New England Journal of Medicine, two Brazilian doctors describe this young man’s case and share a picture of its odd appearance. When he was 19, the skin on his scalp started to change. It grew thicker, forming many soft, spongy ridges and narrow ruts.

Even his hair had an unusual configuration. It was normal in the furrows but sparser over the folds as is common for this strange scalp condition. No doubt, visits to the barber shop as well as washing his squishy scalp and combing his hair were peculiar experiences.
