Madeleine McCann: Buried On The Beach And The Our Maddie Metaphor

MADDIE WATCH – Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann

DAILY MIRROR: “New slur on Madeline McCann’s father Gerry by shamed cop”

A new slur by Goncarlo Amaral? Remember that quoting his book could see the McCann’s lawyers called in. Can the Mirror repeat the slur and still look oh-so caring?

Shamed Portuguese detective Goncalo Amaral stooped to a new low last night – disgracefully claiming Gerry McCann buried daughter Madeleine on a beach the night she went missing.

Disgraceful. The scum. What did he say, just for interest’s sake..?

In his most sickening outburst yet, sacked Amaral said Gerry went back days later to move her body so the police would never find it.

What a complete swine. Did the McCanns’ dignify that with a reply? Surely not…

Says Clarence Mitchell: “Kate and Gerry are looking and watching at everything he does and will not hesitate to take legal action against him if he continues to act in this sickening manner.”

Not. The McCanns are innocent.

THE GUARDIAN: “Setanta are trying, England are very trying”

The England football team and trying. Indeed. And our Maddie?

Setanta’s boast that they are “The Only Place You Will See England in Belarus in October” is not buttering any parsnips

The irony is Setanta really does try harder. Its current coup has been to grab exclusive rights to England’s away qualifiers for the 2010 World cup. That is not exclusive like a Daily Express story about Madeleine McCann, but exclusive in the sense that Setanta has something nobody else does.

Madeleine McCann and the England football team. Now that’s entertainment…
