Britney Spears Records Earth Hour Song
EARTH Hour is nearly upon us. At 8.30pm, we will go back to the future by turning off the lights and as the Daily Mail front-page headline says, taking our chances in this “COUNTRY OF ANGER AND FEAR”.
What will you be doing? Britney Spears has recorded a song for Earth Hour. It’s free and available to download only between 8:30 and 9:30 tonight. But your PC will be switched to hibernate mode, so you won’t hear it.
Earth Hour will be like a huge game of Murder in the Dark – a fun get together for all the family at the Eiffel Tower, the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Sydney Opera House, Table Mountain in Cape Town, CN Tower in Toronto and the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas.
In Britain you can squint upon Nelson’s Column, the Forth Bridge, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, and the London Eye.
Says a spokesman for Earth Hour:
“Why not host a candlelit dinner party? We have menu suggestions, top party tips and fundraising ideas. Or you could arrange an acoustic gig, organise a movie night or get your local to put on a pub quiz in the dark.”
A pub in the dark on a Saturday night… Who says Earth Hour can’t be fun, spilling pints, trying to hit the toilet bowl and a joyous game of darts?
The candles will choke us all.
It’s the Spirit of the Blitz – the Greenshirts are upon us.
And Anorak is proud top bring you The Top Ten Earth Hour Songs (acoustic):
Vultures Over The White Cliffs of Dover
